another class action lawsuit--NCAA style

A while ago I got a check for 48ยข which was my share in a class action lawsuit against Bank of America. Something about them screwing people on their escrow accounts or whatever. Today I got a post card informing me that I was a class member in a lawsuit against the NCAA. Seems like anyone who played an NCAA sanctioned sport before July 15,2016 is also involved. I played football at the University of Maine back in the day. Amazing that there are records of that and all the other folks who played NCAA sports. Wondering if anyone else here got one. Anyway, looks like no money will be had, except for the lawyers of course. I'd possibly be able to get up to 2 free concussion screenings if I qualify. Don't know how in hell they could tell if any brain damage I might have was the result of something that happened to me on a football filed way back then. I bet I can get references from some here.

I thought a judge ruled that there couldn't be one class action suit against the NCAA. In fact as of Oct there were something like 40+ separate suits against different schools and the NCAA. I know there was talk of a few former Rice players looking for compensation, but most of us felt there was no reason to sue. I will have to check with my mom to see if she got anything addressed to me about this. For some reason that stuff all shows up at her house still to this day.
In my opinion I think these former players should STFU. We all knew what we were signing on for when we took the scholarships. We knew there were dangers to playing a contact sport. I suffered injuries while playing and have had a knee surgery post playing days. However, I was also given a free education, free books, free meals, free clothes, free tutoring, free parking, free job placement help, free networking opportunities, etc, etc, etc. Rice nor the NCAA owes me a dime.
I also think Ed O is a piece of shit.
