What is really funny is that the dems really could get 90% of what they want if they would just play ball with republican leadership, who is anything but right. If they had someone with the political instincts of slick willie, they'd do just fine. He may have been a POS in many ways, but he wasn't a fukking moron. The republican leadship's re-tooling of Obamacare is anything but a repeal. It would pass in a heartbeat with any sort of democrat support at all. Everyone knows that deep down inside, Trump is very moderate and probably actually leans a bit left. The dems could team up with him, if they had any sort of brains at all.

Why on earth would any Democrats support the Republican health care plan? Why would they team up with Trump to take away health care from 22 million Americans (many poor and older citizens) while extending tax cuts to the wealthy? You really are that stupid.

There was an article in the news this morning. CBO says House plan takes away insurance from 23 million Americans, Senate plan is 22 million.

Yes, and when they do get sick and seek treatment at the ER, you can help pay for it then.

Actually, I'm good with paying my share to help others out who are less fortunate than I. I know that you're a bit more selfish.

And BTW, I think a much more pressing concern is the need to investigate anyone under the age of 70 who is collecting SS disability. Getting able-bodied people off of that particular teat would free up plenty of cash to take care of the uninsured.

Regarding Illinois, it was reported yesterday that they might have a budget to work on starting this week. Speculation is that there will be a income tax increase included in the budget, and that it will be retroactively applied to Jan 1.

I did not read the CBO report. The news indicated that a significant portion of those losing coverage were people aged 50-64 with low incomes.

Goons, do you think that whisky could manage a health care plan for its citizens better than the Feds for 330 million? I do. I think most other states could as well, other than maybe your neighbors to the south and possibly my hopelessly inept state. Alan Dershowitz coined an interesting term recently, 10th amendment liberal. I think he is on to something. Why the rest of you libs are afraid to show us on the state level how good you are at solving problems.
