Funny you mention it Bri. I wished Mrs.O a happy Dominion Day this morning. She basically said, "say what?" She became a US citizen in 2004. We leave Thursday for Buffalo , then on to Toronto and the St; Lawrence River area (Prescott, Ontario) to visit those folks. Got our new passports and good to go.

This is fucked up on many levels.
That's pretty fucked up fetish. I can't believe that moving sale has actually procreated. But then to find out that his offspring fucks Canadian children? What is he? A junior hockey coach?

We cool. What's up with those cannons pointing at us?

Yeah I know it's just a monument for the Battle of Chrysler Farm. And of course that stopped the last United States invasion of Canada. Or at least the last official United States invasion of Canada. Image

Does Quebec celebrate O Canada, or are they still pretending to be an independent French state?

I was just wondering how he managed that feat while gobbling balck knob. A disturbing visual to say the least.

Small wonder.

Independence Day. The 17 year old rebellious kid that lies about his age and joins the Marine Corp to get away from his parents.

Canada Day- The 27 year old loser comes home from Game Stop and finds all his shit in cardboard boxes on the curb and the locks have been changed.

Congrats you savvy teens. Chucking tea into a harbour was punk. You've replaced the monarchy with bankers (what could possibly go wrong?) and gender neutral toilets. You're an inspiration to us all.

God Save The Queen.

Canada is not that many much further north than Pismo. You should drive up there and fight them.

The Dominion is the same as the constitution?

Actually if I'm not mistaken I think the Dominion and the Constitution both happened in 1867. What happened in 1982 was the constitution was placed under the full control of Canada and Canada alone where is before the British Parliament was allowed to amend the Constitution with the consent of the Canadian government.

Also Canadians were granted a proper Bill of Rights but since they're Canadiens it is known as the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Not sure you how you guys didn't manage to get a u in there somewhere.

The USC was written in 1787 and went into effect in 1789. Tell me you knew. Oh wait you just told us you didn't. :meds:

The only one in this thread talking about the USC is you. Everyone else is talking about Canada's.

Prior to '82 it's the BNA Act, never really called a constitution. More an excuse to get drunk on Viccy's birthday and shoot off fireworks. 'Canada Day' is a recent thing, Victoria Day was always the big holiday, at least in Upper Canada.

Can you explain the diference between upper/lower Canada?

Upper Canada is the southern Ontario bit, Lower is the high part up the St. Lawrence. It was designed to confuse the French.

Doesn't it have to do with the way the Saint Lawrence River flows? As in the upper part of the Saint Lawrence is further south than the lower part of the Saint Lawrence.

So, you are trying to politely say those dirty frogs down river are teh suck without trying to sound like too much of a bigot?

Not been there, but Ste. Marie in the Hurons is similar and a grand trip. Used Prince Edward as a base and toured the sites along the river but didn't get that far east. The master plan is to tour the southern side of river and understand the war from a southern perspective but not got round to it yet.
Lucked out once, went on a trip to Saratoga with some friends and just stepped out of the bar and heard gunshots. 'Oh fuck, I'm in the States' I think. Then walk a few blocks and there's a full scale re-enactment of the Battle of Saratoga going on! Priceless!

This summer is a road trip, week in western New York then a week in Chicago, Illinois. Should be good!

Just got back from a trip north to upstate NY and SE Ontario. Saw all these signs with "150" on them. Took a few seconds and I realized it was Canada's 150th "birthday" that was celebrated. They still have the strange plastic money that you can see through. Saw a lot of water going over Niagara Falls, but no people that day.
Good to be home. My lawnmower is calling, my yard is like a mini hay field.
