Little family trip to the Thousand Islands. So far looking good. More to follow. Don't worry FFL peeps. I'll be back to dominate draft day. :p

1000 Islands very nice this time of year. Mrs.O's old stomping grounds, Canada side of course. If you're fishing hope you get some big ones.

A little swimming, some ice cream and oh my God there's coons. Must be taking the summer off from Mikey's pool.

There's a few stones there. Nowhere near as rocky as Lake Ontario beaches. Anyway we're watching the partial eclipse. Not much happening yet.

That's the ocean. BSmack posted a pic of a nice sandy beach. They obviously picked up all the clam shells and sharp rocks off of the beach and threw them all into the water.

The Saint Lawrence River in the Thousand Islands region basically has a metric shit ton of glacial deposits. Better safe than sorry.

Spent some time at the Eisenhower Locks and Robert Moses Dam in Massena.

Looks like winter has taken its toll on the pavement. Seeing ships go through the locks is cool. I've only seen the Iroquois locks on the Canada side.

We saw this in a front yard on the way back. It ought to make our Southern posters feel a little bit better about their educational systems. You just know that this guy is the guy every single Town official dreads seeing walking into town hall.

Hawaii is nice and all, but the weather/water temp is about the same year round, so imo it's a lot nicer in winter. And the surf is up.

Some arial views from 1000 Islands Tower. We also took a ferry to Howe Island where we discovered that there is fuck all to do on Howe Island.

Must have been by that 100 times, but never went up. There is an elevator? Nice view of the Ivy Lea Bridge.

Yes there's an elevator right in the middle of the tower. It moves 400-plus feet in less than 30 seconds. They have an enclosed viewing area and then two observation areas above that one, accessible by stairs, that are more open to the elements. I went there as a kid and I figured now's a good time to expose my son to some of my favorite spots in the islands.

And for tomorrow, a visit to Ottawa. It's going to be a long day.

Okay so I wanted to take a picture of the Terry Fox Memorial because Terry Fox. Problem was is that some Canadian Moving Sale thought the statue was his own personal rest area. I thought perhaps if I started taking pictures around the area they might get a clue that I wanted to take a picture of the Terry Fox statue. He did not take that hint. So fuck him, I took the picture anyways. Then I came back from Parliament later and nobody was there so I took a proper picture.

A midget can hide behind a clump of plankton. No possibility of a shark getting him. Better chance he will get scooped up by some feeding whale, but the end result is still the same so it it good.
