Do any of you actually follow college football (except Sam)?
There were 3 teams in FBS that went winless in-conference last season. Washington has played 2 of them, and an FCS.
1. Clemson
2. Bama
3. OU
And no opinion on the rest yet.

If only there was a way to determine how Washington would've fared against, say, Pac 12 competition last year...

So by your logic, Wake Forest should be ranked ahead of Washington since they technically have a better "resume" to this point?
Ohhhhhkay.
We've only played three weeks. There's not enough data yet to confidently rank everyone. This early in the season it's reasonable to factor a little bit of "conventional wisdom" into your rankings based on what teams returned from last year's squads combined with the very early results so far.

No.
Wake Forest should be ranked ahead of Washington because they're not Washington.
