Returned home last night. Power on, minimal damage to me house. Lots of horticultural debris. Full report with some photos when I get a chance.

Full story soon. We bailed from home on Saturday afternoon. Got a call from FEMA---mandatory evacuation. That with all the graphics scaring the shit out of us regarding storm surge, we went to a shelter in North Fort Myers. There were closer ones, but they were full by the time I made the executive decision. Hunkered down in the shelter with about 1800 others. Needless to say---a horrible experience. Monday morning after the storm had passed, I opted to bail out of there and go home. We managed to get home, dodging downed trees and flooded sides of roads. Did what we could with no power. I had booked a trip on Wed. to Maine to my 55th college reunion at the U of Maine. RSW was open and American was flying, so we went. Stopped at Manassas VA at my older son's for a couple nights. Returned on Monday night as power was back on at our place. Photos and more on the way.

Was there any damage to Appleby's? All kidding aside, great to see you and wifey are back home. California might be an option to think about. :)
