Gonna have to rack the Stanford defense.
I almost gave up on this game in the first quarter when Love limped off the field and Gaskin looked pretty unstoppable. Not taking anything for granted bu they’ve basically shut down Washington since early in the second quarter.

No playoff for Washington.

Don’t you mean no playoff for the PAC 12?

That is probably true also, though I don’t see it as such a big deal. Certainly not important enough to make me root against my team. What this really means to me is that if Wazzu loses on the road to either Utah or the Fuskies, and Stanford can beat Kal for 73rd consecutive time, they’ll be in the CCG with potentially a chance to avenge their loss to SC.

A Rose Bowl appearance for Stanford would mean a lot more to me than some other Pac 12 team getting to the CFP. I guess I’m just old fashioned that way.

If they could also knock the Domers out of the CFP in a couple of weeks I would consider this a remarkably successful season in spite of a few very disappointing losses.

Except of course that the Rose Bowl is out of play this season.

I was thinking that as well as a potential option to expand the playoff. One from each of the big 5 plus one other, whether it's an independent or a Group of 5 team. The two lowest ranked of the six would have a quarter-final play-in to make the top 4.

I don't think I would want to go to an 8 team format, even if it makes a lot more TV money. It would dilute the importance of the regular season games. The fucking chaos this year has been great, even if "my" conference doesn't get in. I seriously don't think any conference runner-up teams should get in, no matter how good they're perceived by ESPN. The conference championships should count as de facto elimination games.

Except that you would have 5 teams left at that point.

Don’t try to confuse things with math. This is a tremendous idea that would make football so great. So great.

Those players might even stop disrespecting our wonderful flag.

OK maybe two quarterfinals would be needed.

Yea, 3 through 6 would play, 1 and 2 get a bye.

Anything that ensures more great matchups is a good thing.

8 regional conferences of 8 teams each.
Everyone plays 5 home and 5 road games, all 7 conference opponents plus 3 out of conference games vs other teams from within those top 8 conferences.
Top two teams from each conference go in to opposite sides of a 16 team playoff tree.
Last place team from each conference drops to the lower division which operates the same program.
Each year the 8 conferences are realigned

Either give us this system which will provide a true national champion or go back the old bowl allegiances and quit fucking around with fake fixes
This is so socialistic of you, so soccer loving. I thought soccer was for faggots?

Schmick is a closet faggot...and doesn't even realize it.
Someday he'll be outed picking up young men in a public restroom and won't know how he got there.

Seems to go that way for a lot of his ilk.

Obviously you haven't been watching Syracuse games. It's a legitimate strategy against Dino Babers offense in hot weather.
