Hope you all are safe and having a great holiday. I'm just glad to be having it at home...

Tuesday evening in LA, on the 405. This was actually a little worse than a normal rush hour.

The traffic was very light on McGregor Blvd. to church and back where Mrs.O and I had lunch. She wasn't up to cooking a lot this year and I don't blame her. Wait till next year.

Happy Thanksgiving from the ‘Seaters.

Took the hounds to a Turkey Trot this am. Raked up a few Christmas lights after that. Will eat around 4:00 and watch football much of the rest of the day.

Hope y’all have a great day doing whatever it is you and yours do.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I spent this morning doing yard maintenance and I'll spend the afternoon and evening watching football and stuffing my face. Rack America for combining football and poor dietary habits into a single day.

Spent the first chunk of today driving to LEB about 5 hrs round trip, for a 5 minute machine fix.

Had a little entertainment on the way up, on I-91 came across a blazer sitting in the left lane that had just did at least one roll. Hopped out of the car and helped the driver climb out the window. She and her sister were smoking hot blondes, maybe 18-20 years old. Fortunately they were belted in and only had a few scrapes on them.

The last 3 drives up north I have come across accidents that had happened within a minute or two. I must be some sort of jinx.

Anyhoo, back home now, waiting to eat myself into a coma.

Hope you all have a wonderful meal with family and friends....well, accept for MS and let's turd. I hope you both die from botulism.

Worked in the shop this morning, loading up some new AR loads. Since it is a holiday and I feel the need to annoy my neighbors a bit, I put a couple mags through my pistol as well. Cleaned the pistol finished the AR loads. Went to the daughters where there was about 30 people, exactly 13 of whom I knew, 3 were the grand kids and 1 was my ex wife. Fucking glorious meal. The inlaws were drinking heavily and the fucking millennials think they need to shout everything after 2 glasses of wine. It was about 80 degrees in the house, so I went outside with the border collies for a bit.

Made excuses and took a drive, photographed some old barns and came home to a nice cup of coffee and Baileys. The silence is deafening in the house right now. Just another day to me, as I have to work tomorrow.

I worked today.

I drove to LEB. That is the airport in Lebanon, NH.

I fixed something. Took about 5 minutes, got back in my car and drove home.

That's about as simple as I can make it for you.

Maybe I should draw you some fukking pictures.

I'm not familiar with commute times between NE corridor shitholes, I'm sorry to say. I wondered why you would drive 2.5 hours each way to spend 5 min fixing. There's got to be a way to blame liberals for this. Or perhaps you're just the moron we all thought you were.

Let’s put this in Screwy terms.

Your editor sends you to Dover for a jizz mopping press conference. Presser starts at 10:00 am. Since it is jizz mopping, it takes about 5 mins total. Then you drive back.

Got it now, your welcome.

Don't get me started on the dumbfukkery of TSA maintenance procedures, or anything else TSA does for that matter. If I ran TSA, I'd fire me and do 95% of the maintenance in house.

Can't really call it a liberal/conservative thing, other than to point out that it is yet another example of criminal waste of taxpayer dollars and liberals, by definition, seem to think more government running of things is a good idea.

My favorite is my MVY boondoggles, often to do 5-10 minutes of work. If I hit the ferry timing right, it is a 12 hour day just to get there, have a cup of coffee and turn around and go home. It is particularly nice when it happens on a sunday which is doubletime. Basically, it is about 800 bucks for me to go to the vineyard and get in a few hours of bike riding, as I bring my bike and ride from the pier to the airport. Quicker than taking the bus once I get out there.

It is called work, employment, a job. You exchange services you provide to others for money that you use to pay your rent, buy food shit like that. It is no wonder you have no understanding of why he would do that. Employment escapes your comprehension.

Once you see how the federal sausage is made, up close, there are only 2 reasons to want the federal government in charge of ANYTHING more than a few critical constitutionally mandated things.

A. You benefit directly, monitarily

IVth. You are a dumbfukk of biblical proportions.

I definitely fit into that first group, the other is open to debate. Despite this I still have a libertarian philosophy.

The TSA is handicapped by two factors. The first being the inherent overall inefficiency that seems to plague EVERY federal agency. And the second is the slavish devotion to PCness that forces them to carry out their mission blindfolded with one hand tied behind their back.

There was some private sector security dude being interviewed on the radio last week who had done an analysis on the TSA system. He pointed out that it is a joke for one very simple reason. The TSA is hyperfocused on looking for "stuff" and they more or less turn a blind eye to looking for behavior.

They do this for two reasons.

Looking for behavior is more difficult and it risks angering the PC g0ds.

The TSA isn’t good at all at their job.

Then again, given the agents they hire is it really any surprise?

I think the TSA agents are more interested in sexually assaulting their gropees. I got patted down by a TSA goon in Rochester. The guy looked like Jonah Hill pre-weight loss and kept on asking me if I wanted to go into a private room, if this was embarrassing me. I told him we could just keep doing this job right here with witnesses.

Nice two year old story.

We haven't had a hijacking or aircraft-enabled terror attack since 9/11, I guess TSA/DHS is doing something right.

Why do you think TSA hires the Jonah Hill types? If they paid any better you'd be bitching and complaining about how overpaid these tards are.

Just make up your mind, already.

http://www.foxnews.com/travel/2017/07/1 ... tests.html

So there is a link to summer 2017. They also have agents still at work who have committed crimes.

The TSA is a government jobs program. They have made air travel a nightmare for the average traveler, have waged a war on water, and subjected women and some men to nude o scopes so agents could check them out.

Look I travel more than prolly anyone else on this board and am no longer shocked when TSA doesn’t find things I forgot about. Hell it is so bad I no longer even use the clear plastic bag for my liquids less than 3.2oz. TSA hasn’t found that in over two years.

My take on TSOs and I have been working with these folks for 3.5 years now.

They are mostly good folks, which a really shitty job to do.

You've heard of the overpaid federal employee who isn't held accountable for shit.

Well, that guy doesn't work for the TSA.

They are at the bottom of the federal pay barrel. I mean, yeah, the bennies are good and you can live off it, but I wouldn't want to.

There are a few different types of TSOs as I see it.

You have the younger entry level workers who chose the TSA as a way of getting into the federal system. If you are a young person with no military background, getting into BOP, ICE or any other fed agency is difficult/impossible. Doing a few years with TSA gets them into the fed system. Put in a few years without incident, and moving on to one of these other agencies is pretty easy

There are what I call the TSA lifers. They are in it for the long haul. Some are very good folks, others are your stereotypical CYA bureaucrat who will do quite well in TSA but would be pretty much unemployable in the private sector where you actually have to think on your feet and get shit done. I really fukking hate that bunch. Fortunately, I don't have to deal with many of them.

The last bunch are older people that have retired from "real jobs". Some retired military or other private sector. Some were in careers where their job no longer exists and they are just riding it out in the tSA where at least it is a steady check with benefits and some sort of pension if they do enough years. As a bunch, this is my favorite group. They know they are part of a dog and pony show and we have a pretty good laugh over it.

Oh, and B, don't flatter yourself. As much as you do not like having your junk handled at the checkpoint, the dude grabbing you likes it less, but he's doing his fukking job. As best I can tell, a substantial majority are hetero and the handful that aren't prolly don't think a chunk 50 year old dude is their cup of tea anyway.

Anyhooo, I understand your frustration when some monkey in a blue shirt asks you to do something stupid or wants to take your greater than 3.5 oz bottle of water. Just remember, they are just being good nazis, following orders written by some "expert" in DC that couldn't find his ass with both hands. Don't give him any grief. He has enough already.

And guess what I'm doing today?

Gonna drive 2.5 hours to LEB again. Spend 5-10 minutes installing a new CPU in one of their ETDs, then drive home.....again.

What level of expertise is required for this?

The ability to operate a #1 and #2 phillips screw driver.

Could TSA do it?

Certainly.

No other organization would send a reasonably well paid technician to drive 5 hours to do it. But we are talking the fed. gubmint here. Common sense has been surgically removed. And they don't care what it costs, because it's somebody else's money.

Oh well.

Thanks for the 5 hours of OT, chumps!

I'm a 50 something white guy. I learned a long time ago not to piss off people with the power to arrest me. By the way they will let you bring a larger glass of liquid, if you buy it at the state approved airport store. Talk about a racket. But you knew that right?

Is that store beyond the checkpoint, aka the "sterile" area? They will NOT allow you to take that bottle through the checkpoint. Actually, you may take the bottle, it just can't have water in it.

BTW, you can take a bottle of water through the checkpoint IF it is frozen solid. The rationale for this is explosives can not be frozen. The thing I will never understand is how you can bring an empty 16 oz water bottle through the check point, along with 8 little 2 oz bottles of water. In other words, if your intent is to have a 16 bottle of fluid you can bring it in. You will just have to combine them inside the checkpoint. It makes absolutely no sense, but then neither does frisking an 82 year old swedish lady.

Anyhooo, any airport I have ever been to has water fountains beyond the checkpoint. Most have the type made for filling water bottles, so with the slightest bit of planning, you will not have to buy that 7 dollar bottle of water inside the checkpoint.

As for having the forethought to not piss off those capable of arresting you, the vast majority of 50 something white dudes does. The problem is with the 19 year old brown dude. He has figured out that while pissing off that person with arresting powers may go badly, he also konws it could result in a pay day.

That's what I mean, beyond the checkpoint. ATL has practically a shopping mall beyond the checkpoints. Rochester's more like a collection of bodegas.

All airports are like that. You can buy whatever you want and carry it on a plane, inside the sterile area. If you think that forces you to buy 7 dollar water bottles there, you are mistaken. You can bring all the empty bottles you want through the checkpoint and fill them at water fountains inside.

It is a war on water for what gain? As you mentioned I can bring 20 3oz bottles of water but not 1 20 oz bottle of water.

Can't even bring one 8 oz bottle. There is absolutely no logic to it at all.

There is a way around it though. Tell them you need the water to take meds with. They have to let you through then. Of course ISIS won't be able to figure this out, lest they use this loophole so they can...uhhh, fukk, I don't know, maybe drown a bunch of folks on a flight.

Anyhoo, you must hand it to the turrrrrrists. They have gotten the fukk over on the US by maklng travelers jump through hoops and getting Uncle Sugar to piss away billions a year on this dog and pony show.
