So enlighten us Mikey. Why was this jury correct? There doesn’t seem be be any doubt that this criminal alien pulled the trigger. What reasons would there be to not at least convict him of involuntary manslaughter?

This was basically another case of jury nulification. There is no other answer.

No one is suggesting he be found guilty of murder one. It is clear that that could not be proven. But involuntary manslaughter?

I'm no lawyer, but I believe the definition of involuntary manslaughter is the death of someone caused directly, or even indirectly, by the wreckless actions of someone.

I am watching Fox News.

There is someone who is implying that this is a case of overcharging by the DA. He says that involuntary manslaughter was not among the charges, that they were going for Murder 1/2.

Anyone know if this is the case?

If it is, is it because the DA is THAT stupid or is it a way to let him walk and stir the pot?

If manslaughter was not among the charges, the DA should be shitcanned.

Sounds like the infamous Rodney King case. The cops in that case walked simply because the DA overcharged. Then the feds shit all over the cops' 5th amendment rights and went after them "civil rights" charges. That had to be one of the all time great examples of irony.

I have no take on that case one way or another. Doesn't even show up on my give-a-fukk meter.

If it was nulification, it is wrong and yet another example of why our jury system is teh suck.

The question is, what do we go to? Should we have professional jurors?
