Washington (CNN) — Less than one-third of Americans approve of the Republican tax plan, Quinnipiac figures show.
The same poll put President Donald Trump's approval rating at 35%, and Gallup's daily tracking poll reported the same percentage.
In the Quinnipiac poll, conducted from Nov. 29 to Dec. 4 -- before the US Senate passed its version of the tax bill in the early hours of Saturday -- almost two-thirds (64%) of people surveyed said the bill would benefit the wealthy most, while just 24% said they believe the middle class would benefit the most.
Twenty-nine percent of Americans approve of the Republican plan, according to the poll.
Additionally, 41% believed the plan would raise their taxes. Before the House of Representatives passed its version of the tax plan, just 35% thought they would see a tax hike.
Trump's approval rating remains below 40%, a mark he hasn't hit in the Quinnipiac poll since June.
According to a November 9 CNN poll, Trump's approval rating was 36%, while in October it was 37%.
For this poll, Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,508 voters nationwide, with a margin of error of +/- 3.1 percentage points.

So you believe that the majority of Americans approve of this tax plan?

A "majority" voted for she whose name will not be spoken. Thank God we are not a democracy (ruled by the mob/largest cities).

Glad to know how you truly feel. Why do you hate America?

Well at least those 1500 some participants that participated in that. 1500 out of 200 some million..seems like a representative sample that justifies a national press release to me.

Taxes on un-earned income should go away. Period.
But as long it is still a thing, why should grad students be exempted?

Because an educated America is a prosperous America. Too bad you and your ilk don't agree.

More like students are likely to vote for the Dems so they were exempted the last time Dems wrote the tax laws.
But again reading comp isn’t your thing. Notice I said they should all go away. By removing exemptions it makes the absurdity of these taxes visible to more taxpayers and the likelihood of them going away completely increases.

No.
Sate's rights and shit... for example, Oregon represents about 1.25% of the US population (whatever the exact number is -- we do that census thing for a reason). Congress gets a tax bill passed, and it's split -- Oregon submits 1.25% of it, which is raised however the voters in Oregon decide to raise it.
Bye bye, IRS.

That would be a good start.
