Keith Jackson, The voice of BTPCF, growing up for most of us.

RIP

Not much luv for K. Jackson.

Best known for his college work, but if I'm not mistaken, he was also the original play-by-play man on MNF.
Many other things, also.

RIP, KJ.

A lot of college foosball honks IN here.

If you could choose any play-by-play man (living or dead) to call one game, who would you want?

Vin Scully.

Vin Scully is the man, for any play by play. Doesn't matter the sport. Fukk, he might even make girls basketball interesting. But if we are talking BTPCF, Keith, in that hard to describe voice is the man. I saw once description of it being sort of "operatic". Whatever it is, his voice instantly brings me back to my childhood watching ABC Saturday afternoon NCAA games.

And he had to be doing something right for a kid in the BTPCF wasteland that was (and still is) the U&R to have any interest in it. There was absolutely NOTHING going on in Div 1 in New England. I guess BC might have been Div-1A, sorta kinda, but they didn't get any run until Doug Floutie got there. The nearest signs of D1 football life was in Happy Valley.

Yeah.

Maybe I didn't make it clear that I was asking who you'd want to call one college football game.

Nice to see board solidarity on a topic. It doesn't happen much.

List of things we pretty much all agree on:

1. Keith Jackson was THE MAN for calling BTPCF games through the 70s and much of the 80s.

c. MS is the indisputed BB.

XI. uhhhhh, I got nothing.

For some, the definition of relaxation is going to a spa, sipping on a cappuccino, propping up the feet in front of a warm fireplace.

For me, watching the Rose Bowl game on New Year's Day with KJ up in the booth is what it's all about. RIP

Pretty shitty video quality, but the sound is all you need.
