The NFL got what they wanted. Thanks to yet another heaping helping of shitty officiating.

Who was the first person to congratulate Tom Brady after the game? The referee, of course. Though there's some question of who was congratulating whom.

I don't give one fuck about it no matter who's playing in the SB. The NFL has become unwatchable.

Just think-----in various locations somewhere there are tons of gear, half Eagles Champs and half Patriots Champs. And at various locations somewhere else, some poor 3rd world folks will get to wear half of them. Pending.

I'll turn my TV on to the game at roughly 6:10. I'll watch as long as it's entertaining. Certainly not going anywhere to watch the game. I have too much to do tomorrow.

So far the game has been reasonably entertaining. There is potential for it to be an all-time classic.

Thankfully they are not going to release a memo saying Brady didn't really fumble.

Watched the first half at a buddy's house. Drove home during halftime. Yeah, I know, it was tough having to miss Timberlake's show. The OL, who couldn't give the slightest fukk about sports in general, provided alternate entertainment options. So, I didn't tune back in until there was roughly 5 minutes left.

Sounds like I missed a half of Tom Brady when he is on. Unfortunately in the first half, he wasn't. In fact, he downright sucked ass. His passes were behind the receiver, regularly. That long pass he made to Hogan or was it Amendola? was terribly underthrown. The receiver had the D beat by 10 yards. If Tom hits him in stride, he's in the endzone, with ease. Instead they ended up with either a fg or nothing. The last 2 minutes, I figured, here we go, time for Tom to put his superman cape on.......again. But he didn't.

This was one hell of a game. That 4th and one call by the eagles to send the QB wide and throw in a reverse was absolutely brilliant. It was brilliant when the pats did it too, but Tom forgot to catch the ball! I think we will see more of this in the future, especially in the redzone. Putting the QB in motion like that just absolutely mindfukks defensive secondaries. Of course that evil fukking genius, the hoodie will have them ready for it next time, because in the end, he is still the greatest mind in the history of football.

Rack the Igles. They deserved the win. Foles did a hell of a job. Reminds me of another young backup, a few years back that got his chance to shine in the SB when the starter went down.

So do you think Father Time may finally have 'bode on Brady? It seemed that way during the first half, all though, Tom has made a career out of sucking in the first half of SBs, so this was nothing new. I think next year may be it. I hope he doesn't hang around longer than he should, as most great QBs do. And please don't go somewhere else and try to do something like Fah vuh rev did.

Nice to see the Eagles finish off the Pats when they had them on the ropes, unlike the Seahawks & Falcons the last few seasons. Brady at times looked and played old. Next season he'll drop off further which Belichick understands, and is why I wouldn't be surprised if Belichick walks, especially after being forced to trade Garoppolo away.

Better game than I thought it would be. Foles and Philly's OL came through, as ultimately their D did too.

Well the NFL screwed over two cities, San Diego & St Louis, so it's actually a pretty good rating considering.

What I don’t get are the Super Bowl halftime extravaganzas. Who do they appeal to? What purpose do they serve? Every one of the performances gets chopped up into little snippets of the various songs which were popular once upon a time with a heavy emphasis on synchronized dance moves. The only one that had any coherent theme was, interestingly enough, the Lady Gaga show a few years ago— and that was, I suspect, partly because everyone expected her to do a show which was transgressive in some way, but she played it straight and just did her set without trying to push a political agenda like Beyoncé.

Case in point: The Rolling Stones did the Super Bowl a while back, but the show could have been made infinitely better by just having them play three of their best songs all the way through, start to finish. Barring that, perhaps take the college championship team’s marching band and have them perform at halftime with no talking head discussion about what everyone just finished watching for the past 30 minutes.

This year was no exception. The choreography was awful, the music unlistenable, the dancing chaotic, and the audience typically on their phones videoing the whole event while missing it in person.

I just don’t get it.

It seems the NFL is doing everything it can to crap all over its core fan base. Why should the halftime show be any different?

I can see how you’d equate entertainment options with strap-instead, but no. Nothing of the sort in the inventory.

The fan base is still mostly dudes, across the political and economic spectrums, but I would say it favors blue collar, lower income, and the center of it is likely center-right.

Lower income? Maybe in GB, not many other places. The NFL has been transitioning away from typical fans to corporate money for a long time. I certainly don't know any lower income people who pay for personal seat licenses on top of season tickets. I would say the core groups now are corporations, upper middle class, and younger generation FF or daily league gamblers.

Beau Allen, University of Wisconsin - a tackle and an assist

James White, University of Wisconsin - leading rusher for the losers and should have been the MVP last year
