The responses at the grio are not surprising. There is no liberal defense from self admitted whites, there is no feminist response from the same. Blacks write for the grio but go elsewhere to read it. There are no black reactions. The only respondents are self-identified white men and women who are Trump supporters.
There are no hispanic or Asian responses, let alone Hispanic or Asian feminist responses.
The whites who did respond were dismissive of both the symbolism of the hats, and the symbolism of Ms. Tubman herself.
