Something a little lighter, the 50th anniversary of Bulitt and it's memorable chase scene.

Ford is releasing a 50th Anniversary Bulitt Mustang edition this summer. Molly McQueen, Steve's granddaughter is behind the wheel.

Agreed, 1968 was a good year for a lot of cars, the Camaro being one. The newest generation Camaro SS out performs the Mustang GT, but a few years back the Mustang was the better performer. The competition between the two is and has been good for everyone.

That chase was one of the best sequences ever filmed. I can remember seeing that in a theater when I was a kid and getting that strong roller coaster feeling in the gut.

The difference between the 68 Mustang and the 2019 Mustang is the 68 was a car the masses could afford to buy and own. Of course you did not have the stupid fucking government imposed bullshit mileage requirements that reduce the number of those cars that can be produced.
The days of a solider coming home from Vietnam and buying a brand new Mustang or Camaro, or Challenger are over. The prices of those Mustangs is beyond the average consumer these days. I made a comment at a car show last summer when the new Mustang guys were all standing around rubbing their dicks about how fucking cool their cars were. I said any swinging dick with a credit rating could own one of those and it took a real car guy to own a classic one. Thought I kicked them right in the balls.
Still would not mind a ride in the new Bullit and would not mind owing the 2001 version either. They are a step faster than my 94 GT which is a fun enough car anyway.

A base Mustang costs 2,500 in 68 and 25,000 today.
The average wage in 68 was 5,500 and today it's 50,000.
Dumb and Dumber strikes again.

I read somewhere that one of the original cars used to film those scenes is still around. Has hardware on it where cameras were attached and all. Of course I think it was cool that the bad guys drove a MoPar Dodge 440 Magnum.

The days of a solider coming home from Vietnam were over almost 43 years ago.

I drove a used 1970 Nova with a 350 small block and 4 on the floor in HS. The car had 300 or so HP and was a lot of fun. By the mid 1980s the Mustang and other "muscle cars" were below 200 HP and I ended up in a pick up truck.
In 2005 the retro look was back for the Mustang and it had 300 HP, and by 2010 the Camaro was out of moth balls. In 2011 I was considering a Camaro, took a test drive, and decided to also test out a Challenger and Mustang. I ended up in a Mustang, the other cars seemed much larger and didn't handle as well, but all the cars seemed pretty cool.
If you like to watch Velocity, you see the new fad of resto modding. Taking an older classic muscle car and retro fitting it with a modern power train and amenities. That's kinda how my Mustang feels with it's classic styling and 400+ HP.
Every year the HP seems to go up, the 2019 Bullitt will have 475+ HP and 420 lb ft tq. Nice.
The 2018 Camaro SS has about 440 HP, and the Dodge Demon 800+ HP. We're in a muscle car renaissance, I don't know how long it will last, but I'm enjoying it while I can. Lol

Bullitt 2013 style.
Some interesting observations, McQueen drove a green car and had a blue turtle neck, she drives a blue car and has a green turtle neck. It also appears the original green VW bug is still making its rounds. The new Charger got a lot uglier with its four doors and generic styling.

Another supporting performance for your Board Bitch repeat title. Going to the man sex card and suggesting other men perform oral sex on another man clearly shows what a perverted ignorant little midget cocksucker you really are. Go back to your midget gay porn websites and spare us the shit you post.

The awesome engine noise made by the new Mustangs is phony, tuned into the engine to make is sound like a muscle car.
They even have a "quiet" mode that you can program into the controls so that you don't piss off your neighbors when you leave in the morning.
Great selling point for limp-dicked middle aged gearheads, but pretty fucking laughable in reality.

I believe the new Mustang has actuated cut outs in the exhaust so it can be quiet or muscle car loud, lots of cars have them including some high end cars. Not sure what you meant by fake engine noise, but the stock mufflers on my 2014 were too quiet, obliviously most people prefer quiet. i replaced them with Borla S-Types or Stingers, and Borla is correct, they changed the personality of the car. :)

Agreed. Who gives a fuck what the neighbors think ?? I have some mid level Flowmasters on my 5.0, they sound decent but not obnoxious. The tuning bullshit is appealing to millennials and all the older toads who can pay the price for these cars, but true gearheads laugh at this shit.

Yeah you are a real gearhead, you don't even know how much Mustangs cost.
No body said they were new. Mikey said they were dumb. Learn to read dumbfuck.
I was simply responding to Mikey's comment about phony engine noise, which is not phony, just different levels of muffled exhaust. Quiet mode would likely come in handy when with the wife or SO.
You fit in here about as well as you do on a basketball court, run along now.

My wife drives our 94 GT Mustang as hard as I do. If you don't like muscle car noise then go buy a fucking Camry.
