He is a typical establishment republican, meaning he is slightly less shitty than the democrat option. And he will get rolled by the democrat every time, because he is pre-occupied with trying to get the dem to like him.

Romney is a weird mix of public Mr. Nice Guy and private Clinton channeling political hatchet man. On the surface he is the polite fellow who doesn’t shut down Candy Crowley for butting in on the debate and stating incorrect information which pushed the results towards Obama. He doesn’t go on the offensive. He wears flannel shirts tucked in when wearing jeans to a state fair while wearing penny loafers. He looks, smells, sounds, and has the oily feel of a politician.

But put him in the background and he has a whole file cabinet of opposition research to spill on his Republican opponents that he leaks to whichever candidate that kisses the ring on his king making hand.

He did a masterful job on the Olympics for whatever that is worth. He managed to become a governor in a deep blue state, no easy task while maintaining his bona fides with his fellow Utahans like Hatch, Lee, and others. However, he always seemed deeply uncomfortable with his wealth and awkwardly danced around his money rather than just putting it out there and telling America that he wanted to make them rich too— even if that was nigh too impossible to make happen.
