I Like what I am hearing from Democrats lately...

Many of the most liberal and far out wackos are starting to either come around or they forgot their talking points.
Jerry Brown in the Sacramento Bee wrote:People with higher incomes pay a lot more money in taxes, and some of them may be tempted to leave.
NY Gov Cuomo in an NPR interview wrote:New York is a high-tax state, yes,...That’s a decision our state(s) have made...that is how we finance our government.
NY Gov Cuomo in the Albany Business Journal wrote:Rich people will flee. That burden drops down to everyone else...You’re going to increase the state burden by having people leave, taking their tax dollars with them, and then we’re left with the deficit...When we lose the businesses and we lose the higher income taxpayers, where do you think that differential gets made up?
This is much different than their mantra previously that "The rich don't pay their fair share." Better late than never, but glad you finally admit it.
Fiona Ma, Democrat running for CA State Treasurer wrote:"The new tax law is kind of like icing on the cake for some who were thinking about moving out of the state...If they don’t have to stay here because of work or family, it doesn’t give them a lot of incentive.”
Sacramento Bee wrote:Democratic state lawmakers are worried because California relies so heavily on the income taxes it collects from high earners to fund government services. The state’s wealthiest 1 percent, for instance, pay 48 percent of its income tax, and the departure of just a few families could lead to a noticeable hit to state general fund revenue.
“It is a genuine concern and that’s why the legislatures in high-tax states are swinging into action immediately,” said Katie Pratt, a professor at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles who specializes in taxes.
So what are high tax states doing? They are pushing new bills that would set up charities that the rich could pay into to offset their local and state taxes. These are things that will only benefit the rich, since the new tax bill doubled the standard deduction. Here's hoping they are successful, because if they are, every state can set this up to help the rich in their state. (Unlikely it would be considered a charitable deduction by the IRS, but hey we can dream.)

Next up Dems support of open immigration at the expense of unions and union members.

Ponderous. Oregon will welcome them with open arms. The tax structure in this state is pretty tame compared to
Commiefornia. I met with our builder last Saturday in Redmond OR. He told me that there are 12 people a day, or 4,000 plus per year moving to the Central Oregon area, which consists of three counties over about a 75 mile by 75 mile area with population of about 280,000. Most in Deschutes County (Bend).

He also said that the realtors are keeping track of where they all are coming from and over 70% of them are from the Bay area. Developed properties went up about 17% last year. Bare dirt with utilities at the street went up 20%. Bare dirt with no utilities is a bit less. I have one 2 acre piece we are going to build on, and 3 other lots in the same area. Took some market gains and bought those last fall. We have another lot in Prineville, sold one two weeks ago and made 20K in one year on it.

California will chase all the high tax payers out, they are coming north. Some can telecommute, and fly to the Bay area once a week and do business. I have had 3 calls from realtors in the last 2 weeks about my property 30 miles west of Portland. I do not have it ready to sell, I would but the price will be the same. More high tech out of area money. More Hungcouver money.

I will just stay on my hilltop in the rimrock area of Crooked River, fly fish, play my guitar, rod my truck around, fly my plane when I get it next year and just enjoy the last 20 years of my life.

Kind of ironic, as on the flip side, we have a Republican president imposing tariffs. Must be the twilight zone.

This.

Strange times. Unions love them some tariffs, but Dems are howling about them. MAybe Dems are turning their backs on unions in anticipation of the SCOTUS kneecapping them shortly.

But all of this upheaval is good for all of us.
