Shelter pets

Shelter Pets hold a space near and dear to the Seaters. We have had a total of 5 shelter dogs since we have been married. We have fostered somewhere north of 20 dogs in that same time. We also volunteer at a San Antonio no kill shelter and support it with a few donations.
Sadly here in SA we have seen a huge increase recently in the numbers of shelter pets. Some are due to the hurricane in Houston and Corpus Christi last year. Far more are due to the piss poor humans walking this earth. Humans have domesticated dogs and cats and as such they are reliant on us for their survival. Far to many in our society treat animals as a purse or accessory.
So I make this plea and promise. If any of you adopt a shelter pet and need assistance the wife and I will pay for the adoption fees and first year Vet bills. You front it, send us the receipts and we will send you cash. No questions asked. Help us get mores pets out of shelters.

What if I shelter Screwey? Can you kick in a few bucks for dental/psychiatric?

Oh, that's unfortunate. That particular mongrel would be best served being euthanized.
It's the humane way.

We have, like Seater kept quite a few through fostering and adopting 3 of them through the last 20 years. We kept two spaniels and a lab mix, they left this earth at 16, 15 and 13. Only one I had to put down (develop incurable cancer that causes spontaneous bleeding), the other two died at home on a blanket because we knew they were going to go soon.
The kids now volunteer at the shelters, all the time, planning on 2 to 3 times a week. Take walks with the dogs, pigs and try to do something with the others because they enjoy it so much. Wife offers free photos at times as well.
I urge even if you don't want a pet, fostering is not bad and just going there to see the beauty in the animals is something you can cherish as well. The animals appreciate it to as they hold on each day when someone comes and see them and a lot of them get lucky when documents are prepared as you will never know when one hooks you.
Nice topic, Seater.

I'm going to give this some serious thought.

Where exactly is it that you think you're posting, Nancy?

Because that is something Trump would post and brag about. I don't see you like that as a human being. And since Trump owns the lower end of the totem pole in regards to being human I don't think you would want to be in his type of people group.
It's about pets, discarded pets and pets that want to be with owners that treat them with respect and give them another life.
If you want to talk about Women's Shelter, bring up the topic, I will give you my two cents about them and some dealings with them in according what my work does along with the surrounding churches.

The difference being that in Trump's case it would probably be factual.

Those psychiatric bills are going to break the bank, Shlomo. There’s a whole lot of crazy going on in Screwy’s head.

So true. We took on a cat 11 years ago because a friend was having some "temporary" housing issues and could not keep the cat where she was living. After about 3 months it became obvious that the only way the cat would ever leave our house was through a shelter. I decided I couldn't do that and the little fucker is still here. To me Sonny is a member of the family and you don't give up on family.

Fat Seater's concern for these animals is truly touching. He's willing to send hundreds of dollars to random cities across the US to help stray cats and dogs. But he's not willing to spend $20-30 on candy to hand out to little brown kids on Halloween. Salt of the fucking earth, I tell you.
So yes, I will shit on his little thread any way I see fit.

We love our cats and dogs, but it sounds to me like Lefty is getting sucked into some kind of cult down there in texas . . .

Of course you swing and miss trying to make this a color issue. There are plenty of kids of all colors that come begging at the door. I don't give out candy to any of them. If it was a neighborhood thing, great. Sadly it isn't. When adults are wanting as much candy as the kids, it is out of control.
Further, the kids have parents that can take care of them (or should.) Shelter pets do not.

Adults want candy? You live in a fucked up neighborhood. So all your neighbors are fat too?

You clearly missed the part where truck loads of people arrive in the hood looking for handouts. All ages of them.

It's a time-honored tradition. My son and his friends would hit the richest neighborhoods (Maple Bluff, Arch) because they handed out full size candy bars. I have minivans pull up in front of my house and kids pile out. You know what? I buy X number of bags of candy. When it runs out, my light goes off. Cheap bastard.
Edit to add: I let the kids pick what they want. I don't let the adults touch the stuff.

Second sentence does not compute. Fucking with Seater is also a worthy cause.

After growing up with pets I finally adopted a couple of dogs from the local shelter, and am glad I did. Thete are so many great pets at shelters.
Maybe if more people had pets there would be less violence in our society. It certainly couldn't hurt, even though dumbfuckery abounds w/ people leaving their children/pets in the car during summer and other hot times of the year. Along with other brainlesd episodes.
Brian got it right, pets are family.
