Our local sheriffs office covers a county 30 miles long by 30 miles wide. 582,799 in population. ( Yahoo search today). The SO and one other police department have "tactical vehicles". Maybe 2 of them. Probably 700 police officers in the county. Out of that 582,799 there are at least 100,000 you don't want to fuck with. So 700 officers with 2 ACP type units and limited logistics and supply chain issues are going to push around 100,000 very well armed pissed off citizens ?

Even with the 100,000 scattered around that 900 square miles any concentration of the 700 police officers is not going to stop anything. I can also say for a fact, that there are persons with weapons that will stop those ACP's in their tracks. Persons, as in the ones I know or are aware of, there are dozens more. The mere idea of the police effectively controlling the populace is laffable.

While my wife is pretty tolerant of my gun habitat, she is also a pretty good gun person herself and would not be all that pleased with that particular choice of new stock. I had agreed to keep the gun purchases a bit limited, one black powder maybe since I already have about 17 guns, won one in a raffle last summer, and want to buy a plane next year.

Owning that gun does make you the baddest ass on the street though. Spendy comes when all the chinks from the bay area start buying that kind of shit. Saw a bunch of those chink fuckers in decent boats today on the Columbia out of Scapoose. We were 0 for 3, the fish checker was 13 for 43.

While the NRA does make some direct donations to candidates, far more of their spend is controlled directly by their marketing arm with no coordination with the candidate or their campaign. This allows them to spend what they want and to focus only on the 2nd. It also allows candidates to honestly answer questions by saying “I have never accepted a dime from the NRA.”

What is the number of deaths that passes the threshold? I don't know. But anyone who doesn't think that 58 is too many is seriously fucked up. Just like anyone who thinks that a Buck knife can kill just as many people in a single incident is cray-cray, too.

What the London numbers show is banning firearms doesn't make society any safer for citizens. Safer for armed police officers maybe, but that is where it ends. Bad people are going to be bad no matter what. Add little to no care for the mentally ill and shitty parenting, and the root causes for many of the shootings remain.

Suicides are a bigger epidemic, including children. The media doesn't report suicides because of the likelihood of further spread. Yet not only are shootings covered but they are beat to death for days, sometimes weeks, often with misinformation (A good example, Geraldo Rivera stating just owning an AR-15 is enough to trigger these shootings) to proliferate fear mongering.

Obviously removing firearms won't fix any of these issues, but one issue will increase in likelihood like it has in the UK, home invasions.

Firearms are the great equalizer, once removed, many criminals will no longer fear home owners.
