Today is the 74th anniversary of D-Day, and this thread is a remembrance of all who served in the cause of freedom. Many gave their lives so we can have the freedoms we enjoy today. I remember the first time I saw Saving Private Ryan's opening scene, the D-Day landing. I immediately recognized that it was the closest thing to what really happened. That scene and it's horrors stuck with me for days afterword.
