So, Trump is now planning to pay for his Trade War with $12 billion (for a start) of other peoples' money.
Color me shocked.

Looks like maybe Putin gave Trump some tips in Helsinki.
Sen. John Thune (R-SD) said the Department of Agriculture’s decision is an acknowledgement of the “unintended consequences” and “collateral damage” of Trump’s protectionist policies, while Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) said Trump was creating a “Soviet type economy.”

So let me get this straight...

...the people most aggrieved by Trump's "protectionism" are the hook-nosed, rootless cosmopolitans that make their living speculating on the stock market and pushing around imaginary currencies...
...and the folks most likely to reap a benefit are actual American workers in the manufacturing sector...

...according to The Daily Talmud.

Oy Vey...he's like an orange Hitler...this is worse than the Holocaust...

Not a big fan of this, but, I will reserve judgement.

Trump is having to deal with 30 years worth of China (and pretty much everyone else) playing us as chumps regarding international trade.

We are now pushing back and the chinks are purposely going after a chunk of his constituency, farmers, in hopes of getting him to back off. If he uses a short term bailout to battle this, I don't have a problem with it. If farmers are getting this bailout 3 years from now, I do have a problem.

Donald is not a conservative and he sure as hell is not a constitutionalist.

Donald will always do what he thinks is in Donald's best interest.

Always.

So yeah, don't be surprised by anything he ends up doing.

You've not elected a conservative.
You have elected an egotist.

Donald's thought process is as follows---

1. Does it enrich my family?
2. Does it make me look good for my base.

The end

At least he has a thought process unlike you. In your rush to bash him you don’t engage your brain before your fingers start mashing the keyboard. Farm subsidies fail both of his supposed thought process questions above.

I tried to Put "Soviet Style Socialism" in the title but it wouldn't fit.

Can you or the sub-retarded senator from Wisconsin link me up with a single instance of the Communist Party subsidising Soviet farmers? Even once?

How does that differentiate him from The Clinton crime family (you know, the people you wanted to run the country right now)?
You need to be explained the difference? There is none except your boy is the one calling the shots now. "Lock her up!" Clinton is still in all your domes as badly as she is still in the orange monkey's.

I never expected a "B-b-b-but Clinton!" from you, 88...This is unsettling. :(

In the Soviet system, everyone received a “subsidy”. Of course, it was based on that wonderful Marxist idea of “to each, according to their needs”

Sounds good, until you ask the question”.what is one’s needs?” Who determines them?

I would hazard to guess that most Americans would say a ~22% increase in the value of their retirement plan over the last 17 months is acceptable.

I think we have been over this. Taking investment advice from you isn’t smart.

You don’t even understand dollar cost averaging, or that some of the markets biggest gains have been the day after the biggest falls.

It will hit 17,500 before it again hits 26,616.

I'll be glad to place a gentleman's bet on that.

If you're smart you'll cash out.

Friendly advice,... friend.

If you are confident that you can time the market, then stay IN.

It is going to 17,500, and the market tends to fall FAST in comparison to how fast it rises.

All of those precious gains go *poof* before you do anything.

We'll bump this.

:)

Btw, the only time you gain or lose is when you cash out.
Until then it is just numbers on a screen and a dick in your hand.

In your simplistic, limited understanding of the market you might be correct. For the others of us there are ways to gain if people were to follow your advice.

1. We are all trolls in the respect that we talk shit and say things to people that we don't say in real life. It is cathartic.

2. I am not m2.

3. I have (and have had) trolls on this board. It is good fun.

4. Poptart/Softball Bat posts things that he believes.

5. "Flat earth" is not a troll job. If you think it is, wow, you are really long gone.

6. I like smart people. I like people who post things that are either 1) thought-provoking, 2) fresh, 3), funny, 4) entertaining, 5) intense.

7. The day of rest.

Breaking news: Trump has put another nail in the coffin of Obamacare by allowing short term health insurance plans to be bought by people who do not wish to opt in or cannot afford the premiums demanded by the insurance companies due to the market distortions produced by the heinous ACA.

Hooray for Trump! He’s doing what those knock kneed and spineless Republicans refused to do— the will of the people.

Let’s say for argument’s sake that I agree with you, Screwy. I’d respond by saying that Obamacare is a joke as well in that it never was what was advertised and that the system was better in the form it took prior to the ACA being placed into law. As it is, I heartily approve any action or move that negates any part of Obamacare because of the overweening heavy handedness that the government placed on the already overburdened taxpayers’ back.

I don’t care to be told by my government to do something for my own good— or else. Screw that. They work for me, not the other way around.
