Ok, really all that you need to know is that a reality TV show starlet and her sister got their panties all up in a wad when the pilot gave them instructions concerning directions received from the flight attendants. He gave them a stern talking-to and then resumed his duties up front.
The sisters’ response? #flyingwhileblack
What these ladies don’t understand is that the FAA gives the pilot in command
total and complete authority concerning every aspect of the aircraft and flight. He says, “Jump!” These ladies ask, “How high?
I feel somewhat sorry for airline captains in that everybody thinks they are just flying bus drivers when in actual fact, they are in the very same position as the captain of a nautical vessel. At least in a helicopter there is no question who is in charge: Me. The briefing we give prior to every take off explicitly states that the PIC is completely in charge. Suck it, self loading baggage.

While correct it still makes me cringe. The problem is there trolley dollies think they can do whatever they want in the name of safety. That isn’t true. How many times have you seen one of these waitresses jump all over a pax for not having a phone in airplane mode and then retreat to the jump seat and text away themselves.
If it gets to the point of the pilot getting involved it is time to shut up. Say yes or no and hopefully that is it.
If the other reports this incident are true then this Braxton person should be ashamed for bringing race into it. There are plenty of examples of racism. No need to invent instances. If Delta finds she is in the wrong and embellished the story here’s hoping they ban her from future DL flights.
On the other hand if the trolley dolly had a power trip, here is hoping she is let go.

I remember when they were called "stews", and United Airlines had the cutest ones.

The only thing good about my frequent ventures into the International Terminal is to see flight crews of Euro/Middle Eastern/Asian airlines come through the checkpoint.
Those motherfukkers still know what the flying public wants. Tall, smoking hot 24 year old waitresses. Rack them and their chauvinist ways!!!!
Other than that, it sucks. A few weeks ago, i was in the passenger check in area, in a sea of sub-continentals. You could cut the curry cloud with a nice. Couldn't get out of there quick enough.

Not surprised. However, we need more info here. Are you talking about the sister’s claim, the pilot’s reaction, ugly trolley dollies...

Pilot's reaction, sorry for not clarifying earlier.

Yeah. This has moved off of the social media cycle pretty quickly.
Just like the flying while gay claim against Alaska.

I thought you were a cargo kicker.
You're a pilot now?

Where’d you ever get the idea that I was a crewmember? I’ve never hidden or blurred the fact that I am and have been since the mid ‘80s, a helicopter pilot.

You left off the option of " Screwed in the Ass is too fucking stupid to understand the chain of responsibility and how it works".

I'm no aviation guru like some of you shleps, but isn't the pilot considered a "crew member"? Or is that term reserved for the grandmas and faggots back aft slinging cocktails?

Not to get all stereotypey, but has anyone ever seen a male crew member with less than 3 stripes that was hetero?
I think I might have seen one in 2009, but he was prolly just a "top".

Not sure how it works in commercial or military aviation, but in the private sector we refer to the crew and that means all of us including any mechanics or logistics managers.
Personal assistants/secretaries are not included. Most of them feel they are above everyone but their boss.

I’ve never considered pilots to be crew members. The crew is the support staff, be that the crew chief inside the bird or the ground crew and wrenches who fix what we break, but the pilot in command is the captain of his ship. Everyone else is on this earth to serve him.
