Lalah Hathaway

For those of you who know who know who Donny Hathaway is, you should peep the new album by his daughter, Lalah, "Outrun The Sky," on which she does a beautiful rendition of Luther Vandross' "Forever, For Always, For Love." Most people can't redo a Luther classic (see Alisha Keys among countless others) but she rips it. I will be the first to say that popular music is in a dismal state, R&B at the forefront of shittiness, but Lalah puts a little faith in my heart that there are still people out there with talent.

Of course, this album will be buried beneath pretenders like Joss Stone which is most unfortunate. Lalah can't fuck with her pops, but the below song makes me wish she wouldn't take such long hiatuses between releases.
