Gee, look who's behind this electoral fraud? I guess mandatory voter ID will fix this!
It's always hilarious how the GOP is the one crowing about voter fraud, but in reality they're projecting because they're the party of voter and electoral fraud.
The Trumpster GOP is America's greatest threat to democracy and prosperity.
Ballot Fraud Investigation Muddies North Carolina Election
Allegations of flagrant absentee ballot fraud in a North Carolina district have thrown the Election Day results of one of the nation's last unresolved midterm congressional races into question.
Unofficial ballot totals showed Republican Mark Harris ahead of Democrat Dan McCready by 905 votes in the 9th Congressional District. But the state elections board refused to certify the results last week in view of "claims of numerous irregularities and concerted fraudulent activities" involving mail-in ballots in the district.
The elections board has subpoenaed documents from the Harris campaign, a campaign attorney confirmed Tuesday. Investigators seem to be concentrating on activities linked to a longtime political operative from Bladen County, where allegations about mail-in absentee ballots also surfaced two years ago during a tight election for governor.
In affidavits offered by the state Democratic Party, voters described a woman coming to their homes to collect their absentee ballots, whether or not they had been completed properly. State law bars this kind of "harvesting" of absentee ballots, which must be submitted by mail or in person by the voter or a close family member.
If the allegations are accurate, "this is the biggest absentee fraud in a generation or two in North Carolina," said Gerry Cohen, an election law expert and former longtime legislative staff attorney. "North Carolina has a long history of this kind of thing, particularly in rural areas."
Concerns about voter harvesting worried state election officials so much that they sent a letter to every Bladen County address where a voter requested a mail-in ballot asking the voter to call them if someone else tried take the ballot or fill it out.
"Elections officials will never come to your house to pick up your absentee ballot or tell you how to vote," the letter warned.

This absentee ballots for everyone bullshit needs to end.
Absentee ballots should be for miltary stationed away from their home state. Actually, you might even argue that if they are stationed elsewhere, let them vote there. Anyone else should need to show a pretty damn convincing reason to get one.
Everyone else should show up at a poll place, with a valid picture ID. And to states that issue IDs to aliens, legal or illegal, it should be clearly marked ALIEN which means you don't vote....in federal elections anyway. I don't see a problem with legal aliens voting locally. That decision should be left up to the constituents of said governments.

I think voting should be extended to multiple days, no more than 3. This should address this issue. It would also eliminate the need for an absentee ballot. And I think any honest person, with 3 functioning brain cells can agree that absentee ballots are the easiest method of voter fraud.
And, yes, screwey, we are talking bipartisan voter fraud.

How would that address the issue? If you can't get time off on Monday, why would you assume that you can get time off on Tuesday or Wednesday?
Also, you would then have to keep ALL of the polls open for three days instead of one. Who do you think works at the polls? Around here it's all volunteers taking time off to do it, and a lot of them don't wrap up until midnight or so after having to deal with the process of handling the ballots.

Stop having a good faith argument with him on this. He is not interested in making it easier for people to vote. Period.

Sure why not. Let's also make a law to make sure the employers have to provide nanny's to make sure the lazy fucks actually go vote and don't spend the day drinking and fucking off. They can just add it to their cost structure and pass the cost on to the consumer.
This should work exceptionally well in vote by mail states such as Oregon. You can vote by mail and yet only 35% to 45% of the registered voters get off their asses and send the ballot in.

Mikey actually is attempting a good faith argument. You, with your claim that voter fraud is not bipartisan, are not.
Mikey, If the polls are open more than one day, it makes it easier for an employer to give time off to vote. I would have no issue with mandating unpaid time off to vote, all though it shouldn't be necessary with polls being open extended hours.

No prof us needed, dumbfukk. It’s human nature. People will try to take advantage if any system. Therefore, putting measures in effect to at least make it hard to cheat are worthwhile.
Absentee ballots should be limited to those that can show a need. Photo IDs should be mandatory. And employers should be required to give time off if it can be shown that not doing so would deny someone the right to vote.

Here in Madtown we have early voting. I go to a polling place a couple/few weeks before the actual election, show ID and vote. Republicans want to narrow that window because Snotty Walker lost the election not because he got beat, but because of "an unusually large electorate".
Yeah, he got beat not because voters rejected his policies, but because he "reformed himself out of a job".
What a fucking toolbox.

They love democracy so much, they fixed it so that Democrats could get 54% of the votes for the state legislature in order to win a third of the seats.

Nothing is fixed dumbass. Suburban and rural districts tend to run slight Republican majorities. Urban districts run heavily democrat. Sometimes over 90%.
This is how Hillary got her clock cleaned electorally, despite winning the popular vote. I am certain it explains the Wisconsin situation as well.

You're certain? You're certainly full of shit. The Republicans got to redraw the lines after the 2010 census. They did this in secret in the offices of a right-wing law firm in Milwaukee with no involvement from the Democrat's side. They used a computer and some very sophisticated software that modeled different mapping possibilities to concentrate democratic voters in a smaller number of districts. Wisconsin is widely recognized as one of the most seriously gerrymandered states in the country - "it won a national contest for an objective measure of gerrymanders sponsored by Common Cause last year."
