It's a good thing we won the war. Imagine if we had to buy Japanese cars and be guides for their tourists.

A-bombs not withstanding, the Japs got off relatively lightly, vis-à-vis war crimes tribunals.
The Japs in many scenarios made the Einsatzgruppen look like the fucking Red Cross.
This guy briefly outlines what the Japanese did to China during their 1937 offensive on Nanking:
It's pretty gruesome.

No doubt.
The Japs have a history of being ruthless, arrogant, and morally bankrupt.

It would be nice if it were possible to transport Ken Burns and every other folksy American documentarian into the engine room of the Arizona before it exploded and sank.
Peter Coyote, shit fiddle players and Norman Rockwell all have a special place in hell.
BANZAI!

How could a bunch of people as smart as the Japanese be so fukking stupid. They had the entire area at their hands. The Brits were too busy trying to keep from being taken over by Germany to put up much of a fight. America had already demonstrated it had no stomach for STARTING a war.
Had Germany and Japan decided to ignore the US as best possible and instead, tag-teamed Uncle Joe, they might have pulled it off. They then would have had the resources to do pretty much as they pleased.

Hard to believe but Pearl Harbor was closer to the end of the Civil War than today is to Pearl Harbor.

That is weird.
There were civil war vets walking around then. Well, maybe not walking. More like rolled around in wheelchairs.

They say there's a first time for everything, but that's likely the exception. Don't see it ever happening, putz.

The greatest generation is a name of a book written by Tom Brokaw. It's not a real thing. Nobody from that generation ever said that. Certainly their children didn't when they rebelled against going to Vietnam. Just because they were unlucky enough to be conscripted in into the largest war humanity ever known is no reason to lose your common sense.
