There isn't much money in patrolling the highway. Sitting on the side and collecting extra tax dollars, they are very good at. But, it's for your safety of course.

Love it when I get that excuse from them as they are taking part in literal highway robbery. Wouldn't it make sense to do this one roads where speeding is actually a safety issue, rather than at the end of a long straight downhill where they bag people who are guilty of forgetting to stare at their speedometer, rather than looking down the road. Thank baby jesus for cruise control. It is the only defense against these bandits.

I knew if I read your drivel long enough, I would eventually come across something I agree with. Simple lane discipline would make freeway travel much more enjoyable and safe. But in America, so long as you have your cruise set to about 7 mph over the posted limit, you are good. Doesn't matter what fukking lane you are in.

In the case of traffic laws, and the enforcement of them, it is a really bassackwards variation of it. The whole idea of a police state, is it is supposed to instill order. When it comes to traffic laws, it fails at this terribly.

But then government does pretty much everything else horribly. Why give traffic enforcement a pass?
