Saw The Monkees a few years ago at the Warner Theater in DC. Yeah, they were a manufactured band, but they still weren't bad and put on an entertaining show even at their age. Davy Jones had already died, but I did get to see him onstage sing Daydream Believer with U2 at the Rose Bowl several years ago. The Monkees paid tribute to him with that song when I saw 'em, bringing a fan up onstage to sing it.
If you wanna see one of the worst movies ever (and who doesn't!), check out Head starring The Monkees. It was written by Bob Rafelson and Jack Nicholson, and had cameo appearances by Nicholson, Teri Garr, Annette Funicello, Frank Zappa, Sonny Liston, Ray Nitschke, Dennis Hopper, and Toni Basil. None of them could keep the film from sucking out loud, though.
Later, Peter.
