Our little community got nailed a few weeks ago. Massive damage.
A neighbor's wife called him and all he heard was "Tornado!" Then static on the phone. She had their kids with her. He was pretty freaked out, 'til they drove up. They'd been at a gas station/store and the manager shoved everyone into the coolers 'til the thing passed over. It had lifted up just before it hit that spot.
Knoxville, Tennessee. No bad weather, no earthquakes, no wildfires, no crime waves, no homeless or feces on the sidewalks. You get four seasons, lots of lightning bugs, and terrific BBQ.
