No, it's according to Lee Thomas, deputy commissioner of the Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Office,Wolfman wrote:Was this the work of the "Top Filming Location Report" ?
Film studios have been chasing tax incentives for years. Tell me you knew.Papa Willie wrote:https://www.11alive.com/article/enterta ... NViaFA4efo
Hilarious how the liberals are turning their backs on California taxes - yet they wanted them. As long as these people keep their fags back in Cali, all will be okay. They won't be happy when they realize they won't have any pull on politics over here.
Better to shut up and seem a fool than open your pie hole and confirm it.Papa Willie wrote:Property taxes vary by the county here. Pretty substantially, too. As you'd expect, the Democrat-led counties fuck you more in most every tax scenario...Joe in PB wrote:The last few weeks I've been looking at different states for possible retirement destinations. Georgia is one of the better states to retire since they don't tax, or have low taxes on property, SS, and 401Ks for retirees.
Florida, Mississippi, Wyoming, and Nevada are some others.
As much as I'd hate to move, I've got to keep options open if California doesn't make a course correction.

Florida is becoming a major property tax fucking, too - probably not as bad as Cali, but still.

And what the fuck do you expect them to do that will make you stay there ?? That shit hole state is headed farther down the shitter with every passing day and you think they are going to come correct ?? Of course I read it. Again, what’s your point? The tax rate is lower here but the total tax is higher because the homes are worth more. Believe it or not, there are legitimate reasons for that.Papa Willie wrote:And your house would be worth $50k everywhere else. It's not my fault you people are stupid enough to overpay for your housing.Mikey wrote:So your house is worth $150. My house is worth $400,000 more than when I bought it.
What's your point?
Again - did you read that column I asked you about?
I was thinking of checking out somewhere around Savanah, fairly close to the ocean.Mikey wrote:....I could sell my house tomorrow, buy four houses in Bacon, and become a slumlord for a bunch of fat toofless tweakers. Or better yet, in Atlanta..
I hear that Savannah is nice, but they also have a shortage of affordable housing.Joe in PB wrote:I was thinking of checking out somewhere around Savanah, fairly close to the ocean.Mikey wrote:....I could sell my house tomorrow, buy four houses in Bacon, and become a slumlord for a bunch of fat toofless tweakers. Yes, I'm pretty much in agreement. Unless the state is split up (long shot), I don't believe the political landscape will change in California until the bottom drops out and state bankruptcy forces change. By then the 3rd world downtown slums will likely be branched out to smaller towns and municipalities. Higher crime rates, less police and fire fighters will mean a loss of equity for those of us who own a home. I hope it doesn't come to that, but am thinking on making a move before it gets to that point.Derron wrote:And what the fuck do you expect them to do that will make you stay there ?? Mostly just thinking aloud at this point. I certainly don't believe the state is being honest about its deficit numbers. Even if the state doesn't go bankrupt, the writing is on the wall for higher taxes and more miro management by the state. I would miss California, but would still visit. Kinda like Manhattan, great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.Mikey wrote:I hear that Savannah is nice, but they also have a shortage of affordable housing.Joe in PB wrote:I was thinking of checking out somewhere around Savanah, fairly close to the ocean.Mikey wrote:....I could sell my house tomorrow, buy four houses in Bacon, and become a slumlord for a bunch of fat toofless tweakers. Also they were recently overrun by a bunch of tourists who basically trashed the town on St. Patrick's Day.

You wouldn't know North Georgia from South Georgia if Macon came by and shit it all over your forehead.Kierland wrote:And there is the basic difference. Georgia actually has humidity and bugs. You can live in California your whole life and never see any shit or needles.

I'll go further in that Papa Willie. I would say there's three. You've got Atlanta, then outside the perimeter Atlanta and then the rest of Georgia.Papa Willie wrote:We already have two states. Atlanta & the rest of Georgia.Mikey wrote:
If Joe moves to Savannah he'll probably start pushing for to split the state.
I was working in the heart of Downtown Portland yesterday. Arriving at 5AM, I walked past several sleeping bums between my car and the site. By 10AM, they were pressurewashing the shit. A good blast of water gets them to move along. Didn't see any needles this time, they must have been picked up already.schmick wrote:so maybe they've cleaned it up.

I practically live on the stuff. If I had to choose between giving up tea or food, food would no longer enter my body.
Ice tea made in the sun from good (or even decent) quality tea is about the most refreshing drink on a hot summer day. Adding a bunch of sugar ruins it. I get too much sugar from other sources anyway.Left Seater wrote:Sudden Sam wrote:Carson's right. You didn't drink real sweet tea.Mikey wrote:Sweet tea sucks donkey dick, BTW.

Got to agree with Mikey on this. We have plenty of sweet tea around here and if I wanted that much of a sugar rush I would just drink one of those energy drinks.
Good tea doesn't need sugar.
