So I am covering for one of my pilots on a few flights tomorrow and then again next week. He has been here for a month and has earned a week off. The Mrs came along and this will be a working vacation for her as well.

I will post shots from the next 12 days in here.

I was in Paris with my parents when I was 16 and again on my own when I was 19. Haven't been back to Europe since then.

The wife really wants to go to Italy and France, but I can do without. I fucking hate flying (of course I never had a seat like that one, which might make a difference). I'd rather save a few thousand $$, take the train to Paso Robles, maybe even all the way to Monterey, and get drunk on good wine for a weekend.

Credit card spend a $5.60 in taxes got those seats.

All of our personal and company spend goes on a mileage earning card.

An hour wait just to get thru security to enter the area immediately around/under the tower. No thanks. I stood 15 feet away and snapped a photo.

Today we left the city and took a train to Reims. We hired a driver/tour guide and this was the day:

Then it was off to the House of Taittenger. Here the Champagne bottles are allowing the yeast to settle into the neck.

Champagne is aged in underground caves. Here is the old entrance.

Then we moved on to the home of Dom Pérignon. Dude was a monk and stumbled upon bubbly wine

Then it was off to a smaller Champagne house, Foureur

You have to wonder where the money came from to build those churchs, how many people it took, how many took a dive off scaffolding during construction.

The Catholics are all about those huge monstrosities , did they extract tribute from their people to build those ??

If you really want to know, buy this book:

Historical fiction about building a cathedral. Sounds dry, but it's a great read. Lots of politics, intrigue, etc. Follett did some great research for this, and the story is told pretty much from the perspective of one of the workers.

If you're not into reading, try the miniseries with Ian McShane, Eddie Redmayne, Rufus Sewell, Hayley Atwell, Donald Sutherland, etc.

The book has a lot more detail.

I have a co-worker who's in Paris right now. She was in the cathedral yesterday morning, by the time she went to bed it was in ruins.

So after a work day, I met Mrs Seater in Naples. We rented a car and drove over to the Amalfi Coast. Had a 12 mile hike along the coastal mountains, here are those photos.

I point out the lack of a Mrs Seater ass pic and you reference a head shot.

Catching on yet, dumbass?

BTW, rack LS for finally posting a worthy pic.

And yes, the Amalfi Coast is one of the most beautiful places on earf.

Got to explore it a bit during my second med cruise. Spent all our time in Napoli on the first cruise, doing the typical drunken squid Napoli pub crawling. I really kicked myself for wasting all that time there. As fun as a drunken Napoli pub crawl is, once you've seen one Napolitano tranny skank, you've seen them all.
