I dunno. My thinking on this is that the one Democrat who can withstand the pressure to move left and appear reasonable, moderate, unbeholden to the more unseemly progressive ideas (like reparations, eliminating ICE, etc etc) can prevail because he or she will appeal to the vast number of traditional Democrats that Trump took from Clinton. And so far, with the exception of some egregious mistakes on his part, Biden is that guy. His problem is that he so desperately wants to be all things to all people that he allows himself to get painted into a corner like with his New Green Deal-lite plan.

Biden is personable. He comes across as likeable. All he has to do is sit on those attributes and I suspect he’d be the nominee for the Democrats.

But...
.. he is Joe Biden and he is as wont as any to step on his own dick and screw it up for himself as he has for so many decades. There’s a reason he hasn’t been the nominee before.

Many Democratic Candidates have said they want to see open borders. California has sanctuary policies for illegal aliens, and has endorsed providing free, medical care, education, etc for them, despite its many homeless citizens that have no medical care, etc.

California also over runs it's budget, will continue to do so, and expect it's citizens to pay more taxes to cover these extra expedatures.

All in the name of accomplishing their goal of having super majorities at the state and federal level, where they won't need voter approval for their horrible policies.

Sure, the example he used to show how people with widely differing views can still work together may not have been ideal, but folks are really getting worked up over it?
