Connecticut may have a higher average income than the poor southern/mid-western states you mention, but they aren't in the financial trouble Ct is. We are fukked. Illinois, NJ, NY, CA are in a similar state. So is DC, once the Ponzi scheme collapses and they can't borrow/print/tax their way out of it.

It isn’t that simple. It had horrible infrastructure before the storm. Further most citizens there don’t pay Federal taxes. We should and did help with food and water. But do we need to rebuild their already shitty infrastructure? Power wasn’t reliable before the storm. Tap water wasn’t safe at all times before the storm.
