Close call

A few months ago I started having minor chest pain after walking relatively short distances. Went to a cardiologist, had some tests run, and had an angiogram today, which showed the coronary artery they call the “widow maker” was 95% occluded. A stent was inserted and I’m spending the night in the hospital, which is why there was no tunage tonight. Doc who worked on me said I likely would’ve had a heart attack within a week, probably fatal, if the stent wasn’t inserted. Feeling pretty lucky right about now.
Rack the trolls.
Now fuck off.

Rack You for getting to the Doc in time, you're on my prayer list, whether you want to or not for an uncomplicated recovery.

Thank God and gOD they caught it in time.
A guy in my office had a heart attack a few months ago. They said he was a few minutes from dying but got to the hospital in time and had three stents put in I think. He was back at work in less than week.
I thought he was crazy but he’s doing fine now. I hope your recovery goes as smoothly.

Let me know when the 2020 death pool thread goes up.
Well...
Hang in there, dude.
Very glad you're still with us.
Listen to your doctors.
They are smarter than you.

The same thing happened to me, but I went to an
Egyptologist.
He kept asking me where my "antechamber" was and why I didn't put down "Valley Of The Kings" as my place of birth...
I told him to fuck off and I flipped over the magazine rack in his lobby as I stormed out of there... :x
Since then, I've never felt better.

Yeah, it's likely I'll see another one or 20 of those before the Nats win a postseason series. Wouldn't mind if Rendon wins MVP, though. Great player on O & D, solid jungle dweller.

Did you make sure you picked a doctor that has an office with double doors so you could actually fit inside?

Glad you caught it in time and had treatment and are on the mend. January 21, 2018 I watched a good friend and neighbor die on his living room floor from a massive MI. He was a heavy smoker for 40 years, did a couple of tours in Vietnam.
He knew he was having issues but detested doctors and knew he would have been headed for heart surgery. He was 68 years old and I miss him every day. He knew the risks of ignoring it and paid for it with his life.
Glad you dealt with it.

Kind of like you have to pick doors that have a secondary handle down low so you can grab it with your ham fisted deformed digits or one that has an auto opener that you can activate with your assistance stick ?

It's not, and it wouldn't work anyway. The chat/radio format is simply not one that'll attract listeners in this day & age, despite what should be obvious to even the most casual observer as being high-quality entertainment. It's basically the interweb's version of burlesque or vaudeville, and the few folks who do tune in are veritable dinosaurs, as are its purveyors ('sup, Wolfie?). I've accepted that and am ok with it despite being a bit wistful that it wasn't so. I don't do it for $$ (obviously) or glory, but rather, as I'm sure Wolfman would agree, because it's just fun to do as long as there are even a few listeners. Since both of us were radio DJs in past lives, it's a way to reconnect with something we used to do and enjoyed, regardless of how lame that may seem to the haytas ('sup, Marty?).
I'll be back at it again this Fri night with a
hearty selection of tunes. (THERE'S your cheap publicity stunt!)
Rock the trolls!

Seems like we’re all getting older (thanks Marcus) and it’s going to catch up with every one of us one way or another.
I had to go in last Thursday for a prostate biopsy due mostly to some high PSA numbers. Not something that will make my list top 10 things to take a day off work for. Still waiting for results. By Friday I should know whether I’ll be checking out sometime this year or 2050. Or sometime in between.

I saw 'em a couple times, at least. First time was at Cal Jam II. The other time I remember was in Costa Mesa w/ the Black Crowes opening. Met Sam Kinison backstage and saw Jack Russell (not the terrier, but Great White's singer) back there, too. Not a bad show.

Saw them on same tour with the Crowes. Most people had not heard of the BC so we were front row for them. Both put on a great show.

Saw Heart, Fleetwood Mac and Pat Travers at Portland International Raceway in 1978. Did you know that if you start shooting whiskey, taking speed and smoking weed ( I was 21) at 9 am that you will be completely wasted by a 4 pm concert start, and when you finally realize that you and your crew are now 10 feet from the stage and checking out a then pretty hot Ann and Nancy.
There lead guitar player hit one of the chords in Crazy on You, it did not play, he hit it again, the rest started extending the bar a bit and he pulled that guitar off, smashed it on stage and kicked the pieces into the audience. I still have some of the pieces and will be shadow boxing them with my tickets next year. Last saw them about 10 years ago at the Oregon State Fair. Lot of butch dykes at that show. Rough crowd they were.

I knew you had to be a tweaker and now you just gave us the transcript. The signs were all there. That pic of you with all the scabs and the missing teeth. The spacey look. The guns and paranoia cocktails. The missing wife. Oregon. And the yellow streak was you being scared of the cops busting you for crank.
Nice going junkie.

Sounds like a balst. Isn't the speed supposed to offset the drunkkeness?

True that. But that shit was expensive. There was a ton of black market speed that would keep you going all night and give you the knee shakes for most of the next day. Blow was for the ugly mother fuckers who would buy a gram on Friday night and get some coke whore to fuck them for a few lines for a couple nights.
