Spent a few days in the Western UP recently and thought I'd share some pics with you dudes (and lady). The autumn color was past its peak but still pretty deece in certain areas. One thing I like about the UP is you can get around pretty quickly because there are almost no cars on the roads and therefore no cops. But when speeding you definitely have to worry more about animal crossings and drunk yokels than cops.


Stopped briefly at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore as it was sort of on the way, but kept it moving since I've hiked that area pretty extensively in the past so kept heading west toward Copper Harbor.






The drive up 26 heading to Copper Harbor. Lake Superior hugs the road to the west.



Stopped for a brief hike along Lake Superior Trail. It was pretty windy. You could say the gales of November came early.

Left there and headed to the Porcupine Wilderness State Park two hours south, home to a pretty extensive stand of old growth northern hardwood forest. Lots of sugar maple, yellow birch, and eastern hemlock...for those into that sort of thing.



Hiked a trail several miles through the forest to the Lake of the Clouds.

Had to start some shit with them deer btw. I walked up to em and was like "the fuck you lookin' at? Huh? You wanna take this outside? What's that, bitch? You wanna take this outside? Oh yeah, I guess we are outside." Then BAM, clocked em both right in the face.

Rack the PET. We were up there 7 years ago and got over to the Madeline Island area as well. Beautiful country.

Absolutely love this time of year. Last week I had a 2 day "work" to VT. Gotta love being paid to drive through VT at the peak of colors.

I am convinced that the week or two show is just g0d/allah/yaweh/spaghetti monster/buddah's way of saying, "OK, I am about to be a fukking DICK to you for about 5-6 months and I sorta feel a little guilty. So here's a little something nice for ya".

In socal, he's like "you lucky fukks, I am about to actually make your weather better. You don't deserve it, especially you faggots, so you get brown scrubs and I am gonna burn half of them, just to be an ass. And if I am feeling particularly douchey, maybe I'll throw in a mudslide or 3.

Nice. One thing I miss about CNY at this time of year is the fall foliage.
