Are they a good buy 'used'? Is it well-engineered enough that buyers won't have to worry about multiple costly repairs and recalls as the vehicle ages, like normal American cars?
We have an electric car up here. Won't be plowing snow or going off-road, but for regular driving in-town, sure, why not? Everyone is already plugged in so their vehicles will start in -50 degree weather, why not charge at the same time? No one needs to go more than 25 mph in-town in the bush anyway. Save that for the ice roads. Haven't seen cost prohibitive numbers yet, so don't know the hidden negatives.
What would happen if the chassis were lifted a couple inches on all electric cars?
Nothing happens outside his trailer in the swamp in Bacon, Georgia.
He really has no reason to lose weight and venture outside to get fresh air.
His life consists of caregivers and bedpans. Surfing the internet, reading news links and dreaming of places that he's never been to.
And thinking to himself what if... what if they never invented Kentucky Fried Chicken. I too could be living a life and travel to world-renowned locations and not just dreaming and fantasizing about them.
It must be a lonely existence. "What if ?"

Let me guess - Prius Boy is crying?
No, just feeling sorry for you... like EVERYONE else on the board does.
Well, I probably shouldn't speak for EVERYONE else. There's a good chance that a lot of posters on this board wish you ill will.
Surf the net and find out if it's sunny in Bacon, Georgia... and get back to me.
60 degrees and sunny here in San Francisco.

If I had to drive every day (thank God and G0d I don't), I would like a Prius. They're pretty cool cars.

It's rare that i drive my car in "The City". I usually have the car parked under my building and walk, take the bus, or Lyft if needed. I had some business to take care of "South of Market" Sunday night.

I believe it was Dins that said:
Prius’, the technology is pretty cool, it’s just the d-bags who own them that are the issue.
That said, the Prius isn’t for me, but hybrid cars make a ton of sense. Too bad they don’t make a suburban hybrid, or didn’t when I purchased last year.

Sure - if you've got a pussy where a dick belongs.
Good call. I'd buy a UNION-MADE Chevy Volt instead.

Completely different.
A Volt, while it is capable of engaging the ICE to the wheels, is primarily an "electric hybrid." The ICE's main function is to run a generator.
A Prius is a "true hybrid," in that electronics control stuff, and the ICE/Motor-Generators do whatever they thinks is best.

The right wing is wack.
Here's your problem.
Trump, a lifelong Democrat from queens NY, has taken the Republican party to new levels of greatness, so much so that the GOP is now polling in the mid to upper 20's in the African American community.
Considering that Mitt Romney got a mere 5% of that vote,
These new polls spell GAME OVER for you left wing socialists this November.
This is monumental considering that the entire mainstream press and media are 100% against him.
You gotta believe that the average American voter fully understands that the press and academia are corrupt.
It's been this way for a while now,
But now it's widely known.
In order for a free society to stay free from government control socialism, the press and academia must be held accountable. Once the government control socialists gain control of the press and academia, your bill of rights becomes null and void.
We've seen this before. The soviet socialists and the nazi socialists controlled the press and academia.
We desperately needed a president like D J TRUMP to swing the pendulum of liberty back to the people. To expose the left wing socialists BIG TIME.
The next four years is crucial.
Ruthie bader's seat goes to a Scalia clone female conservative.
And the trump dynasty begins.
Don Jr. IVANKA, Barron, etc.

The Prius and other hybrids are fantastic cars for those that have to battle with nightmare urban traffic. This isn’t open to debate.
In places where we routinely drive without traffic jams, the added cost of the hybrid system is largely wasted. I would modify that slightly to say that in lightly traveled hilly areas, the hybrid system still has a payback by recovering some potential energy rather than turn it into brake dust.
The pure EVs are definitely the future for urban travel and even other areas, so long as your trips are short. I could see EV sales getting close to 50% of the market, if we continue battery cost reductions.

Or intelligent people just don't like giving their money to oil companies.
Are the mods going to delete Porky's SPAM in this thread and "Eat A Penis'" political bullshit from this thread ?

Giving a fuck about what oil companies do with the money handed to them is politics. EAP's post is appropriate.

I’ll get one when they can get 500-600 miles of range out of them,
You can't fit into them.
You can scratch that off your bucket list.

You said the right sucks. EAP took offense. If EAP'S post is to be deleted, so is yours. I think both have a place in a PET turned hybrid car thread
