Weinstein verdict

I haven't followed it any closer than to watch whatever coverage I happen to catch on the news, but, this just doesn't smell right.
I am no fan of Weinstein. He is a creepy fat slob who undoubtedly took advantage of his position to bed aspiring young starlets.
This is despicable behavior, but it ain't rape.
He was undoubtedly an aggressive POS who probably pushed things further than his "victims" wanted it to go, but is this rape?
If you invite some young hussy up to your hotel room, it ain't to play tiddly winks.
Apparently the woman he was found guilty of raping, maintained a cordial relationship with him after the "rape".
From the bit I know, he is guilty of being a cad, a POS and MAYBE guilty of some level of sexual harassment, but I just don't see rape being proven beyond a doubt.
If it does, what stops any woman from making the same claim about any man who she was intimate with at any time once their relationship goes south?
My guess is that this will be knocked down on appeal.
Another question is will Hollywood do anything to prevent use of the "casting couch"?
CAN it do anything?
There are companies in the corporate world that have taken steps to prevent this sort of tactic. It is also in place in government....so long as your name isn't Bill Clinton.
I really don't know that there is much that can be done. Men are pigs. Rich and powerful men will continue to use their position in this regard and I really don't know that there is much that can be done. If laws are passed addressing this, women will use it to blackmail the fukk out of men.
In the end I think it simply comes down to choice. A woman can choose to use her pussy to get ahead in life. If she does, she'll have to deal with the consequences.
