Florida has 2 million more people than NY. They have a very old population. CV ought to be decimating FLorida.

According to your link, Florida has 600 and change deaths. NY has north of 10K.

So, given the age demographics and the fact that people flock to Florida for tourism year round, I would say they've done a pretty good job.

Florida has half the population of California, but 72 deaths by Covid-19 yesterday. The most in one day in CA is 71.

I don't have numbers in front of me, but I have heard figures of 90% or more are over 70. Of the remaining 10% the large majority had other pre-existing health issues.

Their system is completely overwhelmed, and is made up of 30 year old architecture that was budgeted and allocated to be replaced in 2009, but still has had nothing done to this date. People filing claims get busy signals, 404's, and all kinds of shit that prevents them from filing.Of course the governor knows that they cannot pay these claims since 200,000 people at $500 a month, most qualify for at least double that, will cost the state 100 million a month minimum.The state does not even have reserves to pay a quarter of that.
