They very well may be the most corrupt force in the country. They are the largest and government corruption is a long lived tradition in NYC. I suspect that Chicago gives them a run though, pound for pound in the corruption game.

None of this changes the fact that individual cops on the ground deserve support.

I think the answer to the problems with inner city policing are first, get rid of dumb laws. Remove circumstances that cause illegal activity.

NYC should not be arresting guys for non-violent crimes like selling loosies. But that's the problem, NYPD doesn't want to do real police work, they want to rack up arrests on fat fucks selling loosies and turnstyle hoppers.
