Belarusian state TV presenter Tatyana Borodkina is into cooking, not politics.

Each morning, on Breakfast for 3, she would prepare simple recipes helped out by her two young daughters.

But last week, she announced her resignation on Facebook, declaring that she could "no longer smile out from the TV screen" after what she was sure was a crudely rigged election.

She has since had to flee the country with her children, after receiving threats.
Russia has allegedly entered on behalf of Lukashenko. Not our problem?

Most of the people in Eastern Ukraine are part Russian.
Most of the people in Crimea are part Russian.
Most of the people in Belarus are part Russian.

The better question is "WHY would it be our problem".

There's no domino theory attached? The situation isn't a concern for our allies? There's no oil or strategic benefit, like Syria?

I don't know. You were horrified by the killing fields of Cambodia. Is Belarus old hat? or not relateable in the same way as Cambodia and the fates of its educated class?

A domino theory is what got us stuck in Vietnam.

Russia can take that shithole back and no one will care.

The Domino Theory was absolutely correct. Communist insurrections did in fact sweep Asia with varying degrees of success. Vietnam and Korea seen in the larger context of the Cold War demonstrated that we were willing to aggressively confront communist expansionism.

Belarus is none of our business.
