The fact that there hasn’t been a conjunction this close for something like 800 years probably increases the odds somewhat.

Actually the fact that it’s happening right now makes the odds something like 100%.

If you throw in the fact that the Ursid meteor shower is peaking tonight, then you have a fairly unusual celestial triple combination.

Set up the scope out here in the Valley of the Sun and checked it out. Pretty cool.
