Of course you miss the point. Masks are required the OSHA as part of their Bloodborne Pathogens and Needlestick Prevention. Since there is a high likelihood of blood splatter while in the Dentist's chair they must wear one. My dentist often doesn't wear a mask, but she wears a full face shield. She also wears a smock. Those aren't worn because she is worried about a cold or Rona.

I know I get huge amounts of blood spatter every time I go to the dentist. I'm glad to know about OSHA the requirements because I was starting to thing that maybe switch should I my dentist. But he NEVER wears a mask or face shield.

In the case of a dentist, they are very close to your wide open mouth. Honestly, even in this case, I suspect ti doesn't do much. But when you are standing feet away from a person in public and no one is sneezing/coughing, it is theater. The studies have been done comparing school districts who masked/didn't mask. The results, no difference in infection rates, just like Fauci told us 2 years ago, before he started lying his ass off.
