On April 12, 2022, at the age of 67,
Gottfried died in the Manhattan
borough of New York City from
recurrent ventricular tachycardia
that was complicated by type II
myotonic dystrophy.
When they close the lid on the casket for the final time, someone can
reach in and finally remove the vice grip that has been attached to
his balls for 40 years.
RIP

Imagine being confined in a room with him & Fran Dresher....

With the possible exception of a tiger taming act gone horribly wrong, being a stand up comedian is surely the toughest and most taxing gig in all of show business.
GG was awesome and had the most unique voice. I found it hilarious.

Saw him headline a live stand-up gig at Magooby's Joke House outside B'more a few yeas ago. Sat front row, directly in front of the stage, & dude was . Met him briefly after the show. Seemed like a swell guy.

Some comics who had been around Gilbert said he was totally different in real life than what we saw of him as a performer.
Said he was quiet, gentle, and even a bit shy.
