They must be playing in Schmuck’s league.

First of all, being 6'3" 290, few people hassle me period. I officiated mostly high school and college level baseball, softball, and football where there are fewer incidents probably because the governing bodies have a "hammer" that would punish it. Florida for example fines a school and coach who are involved. That being said, I was always on the look out for some irate fan, especially as we headed to our locker room after a game and had to pass through a crowd.
I avoided younger kid's sports like Little League and Pop Warner Football largely because that's where all too many hot headed parents are who think their little athlete is going to earn millions playing pro sports.
FYI--I did get suckered punched when 2 guys jumped me alone in a titty bar men's room. Knocked me out and cut my upper lip. The scar is a reminder to me to stay out of those places and/or bring back up.

At least it happened way before the invention of cell phone camera.

If it happened in recent times we would all be watching it, like we watched Mike Tyson's new little friend, instead of merely reading about it.
