Anyone watched Spirited? Violent Night? Falling for Christmas? Ticket to Paradise?
Of those listed I have watched Spirited twice. It's good. Over-the-top and campy -not always in a good way- but still a fun watch. Ryan Reynolds and Will Farrell have decent chemistry in a way that is completely predictable. Most of the movie is pretty predictable but that's okay. It's a retelling of the Dickens Christmas Story so whatcha gonna do?
Octavia Spencer has good facial expressions for her role but otherwise I think she was miscast.
It niggled me that in scenes with Christmas Past revisionist history is a primary theme. If you're an idiot you won't notice and if you're an activist you'll cheer. I was also bothered by Jacob Marley being made a silly goof when he should be tragic and imposing.
It's a musical from the same people who made The Greatest Showman which might be too much culture for some of you but give it a shot. There's a good chance you'll enjoy yourself.
I give it 4 out of 5 stars and so did most reviewers on Rotten Tomatoes.
edit - btw, all references to Nazis, pedos, fragile masculinity, white supremacy, and traytorrrzzzz will be summarily ignored. This is a movie thread. Fuck allllllll the way off with your activism, shitheads.
