The weather here in FOC has been fairly decent of late.
I was almost ready to go ahead and declare winter officially over,
but I knew Donnie Baker would flip shit, and then a surprise
front came thru and dropped about 3 inches of snow Thursday
as well. This coming Wed, we are looking at 60 again, which
will be ideal for a parade, but then a chance of snow again the
next day. With that, I am holding off for another week or two.
This town is absolutely nothing but Superbowl 24/7.
The local media has beaten every single dead horse
subject to death. The first time two brothers play in the
same game at QB. The first time two brothers play in the
same game w/ Momma Kelce sporting a very d-town'ish spilt
team jersey. It's time to play the damn game already.
Where are you watching? Home or party? I will be watching
from home w/ Vaghub and my son will be coming over as
is tradition. We will be enjoying some good old KC BBQ,
and watching the Chiefs prevail as I mentioned earlier in
another thread. 28-24. Odds makers are still locked in on
Philly at -1.5 and garnering 66% of the nickel and dime wagers,
but enough big (smart) $$ is being thrown at KC to prevent
line movement.
It seems kind of weird being the only Chiefs homer left in
this place .... back in the old days ... lemme tell ya now ...
I think the only reminder from the days of yore is the smiley
of Paul scarfing the Twinkie.
WAR - Defenders of the Red Faith!
M.o.W.
Happy Weekend, Y'all.

I'm glad you matriculated over here, dave.
I do believe I am the only remaining Raider fan from those good old days.
Although I actually ceased cheering for the Silver and Black when Al died.
Now I am just an observer.
I like your prediction.
KC will win, and the pt total will be under.
Jmo.
Enjoy the game!

I was a huge Raiders fan growing up. First real memory was the Lamonica for Tom Flores and Art Powell trade. So, late 60s through the 70s and started to lose interest when they moved to LA, though I still followed for a while because of Jim Plunkett and MA. I had been to every home game of Plunkett’s college career.
I’ll have to say that back in the golden age before the LA
move the Raiders bad-ass rebel image was pretty cool. At some point it became a ridiculous parody of itself. I think the initial move out of Oakland was a big part of that.

IN. No Stupor Bowl game for me. I simply lost interest in the NFL. To each their own.
Enjoy.

Friend’s uncle was head trainer for the Raiders. I used to wear a game worn Casper jersey and game worn Biletnikoff turf shoes to school that he gave me (wasn’t the biggest deal at our school cause dude was generous and handed a lot of game worn stuff out). Started going to games in 1990. Hit every home game till they moved and then hit another 40 or so. So yeah, you have company.
Heart: Fuck KC
Bet: I put $50 on KC and took the points and $50 parlay of KC and the over. Oh and $25 on Heads. And another $30 for some squares in two pools.
Hiking Bishop’ Peak today then set up a buddies house for the game party which I will be attending on game day.
Stock photo for effect.

This is true.
I thought I could use the Chiefs as a vehicle to promote Marxist - Leninist concepts to the many fine people of Kansas on the board, hence the avatar. Unfortunately my experiment was a complete disaster.
I got told to f*ck off and die, choke on a dick and other things I won't repeat here. :(
And yes, if your team is actually in the Superbowl, the two week wait is a killer. The hype machine just puts you through the wringer.

Same and I'm half your age! And you misspelled "stupid bowl."
But, whatever. Apparently there's some sort of narrative and requirement you and I aren't following that everyone else is.

When are people going to realize the Stupid Bowl is, and always has been and always will be, an over-hyped under-delivered event?
The NFL has completely watered down the league to make it just slightly more than a 2-hand touch league. There are more flags thrown on those fields than a National Cemetery on Memorial Day Weekend. And then there's the wokeness factor that has made it an even more pussified league. Playing "everyone stand up and sing" and encouraging kneeling down during the National Anthem should have been your first clue and that was the final nail in the coffin for me when it came to being a fan of the Broncos and following the league.
That and the Broncos just absolutely flat out suck. So what's the point of even being a fan if all they do is win 2-3 games a season after over-hyping how they will do in August?
But, alas, among most people, all that America-hating white-hating pussifying of the league was swept under the rug by most people. There is still a cult-following of this league and it proves how gullible people are in following narratives.
I went from a faithful watcher all day every Sunday and Monday night to participating in multiple pick-em games to looking forward to the Stupid Bowl and watching the whole thing from start to finish all the way down to nada in a matter of just 4-5 years (last SB I watched was 50 and even then I wasn't all that excited the Broncos won it). A few years later, I gave away or threw out all of my Broncos gear except for one thing which I will try to sell online and make a 100% profit.
People say I'm no longer a football fan. Bullshit. We have the XFL starting up next month. That league plays the game the same way the NFL once did under Paul Tagliabue. That is, before Roger Baddell came in and took a shit all over it but still kept the cult following.
So, fuck the NFL, fuck the Stupid Bowl and fuck their assinine $12M commercials that fall WAY below expectations (and everyone is so shocked how lame they are every year) and especially the shitty halftime shows that also fall way below expectations every year and somehow everyone is shocked.

No he didn't. stu·por /ˈsto͞opər/ noun
a state of near-unconsciousness or insensibility. "a drunken stupor"
But your word works.

Having large numbers of players come out of their careers with permanent disabilities isn't macho.
It is sick and stupid.
The players became too big, too fast, and too precise in their movements on the field.
And awareness to what was happening with former players increased.
So what we watched and enjoyed in the '70s, '80s, and '90s would no longer fly.

lol you're not wrong. I might be the only Floridian who loves December. The rains are generally short and my thighs aren't trying to stick together.
I'd be okay with some un-winter next week. Next few months I tour PA, IL, Ohio, KY, and TN. Weather could be complete shit.

Sounds like the kind of movie you watch with the sound off and your pants down.
That would be impossible. Not enough little boys in it.
Whoa nelly! I didn't realize we had any honest-to-god paedophiles in here!
Holy shit!

Bullshit.
You're telling me you never watched VH1 late at night with the sound off and your dick out nursing a half chub waiting for a Madonna video or that Robert Palmer song with the guitarist chicks in vinyl dresses?

Totally relaxing weekend for me. I don't think I did anything but some laundry and a poured cocktail or two. A total slug this weekend... but that's ok at this time of the year in Pgh. Things will certainly change as the weather starts to warm and the gardens start waking up- Plenty of outdoor work to be done then.
Super Bowl- meh. Maybe I'll watch, dunno. If Antiques Roadshow is on PBS or a good hunting show on outdoor network I'll tune into one of those instead.
