Going to see these guys open for Ugly Kid Joe on Monday night.



I am old. I hate week night concerts. But it's a good excuse to
take a 4 day weekend I guess. I have a ton of grill work to catch
up on as well and I really need a break from the real job.

I haven't had a good meme in weeks now. I took a look and
two of the pages I follow have been removed. If anyone knows
of any good meme pages send me a link .... as of now, the
MOW is on hiatus.

While I don't have a MOW, I do have an overdue, mini rant.
I have been meaning to discuss a certain guy lately, but have not
made the time to do so until now. The guy I'm talking about, his act
is getting really old. I don't have a particular catchy name for him,
so for now, I will just call him, excuse guy.
Excuse guys real name is Bob. Bob and I, along w/ 3 others belong
to a certain web enthusiasts page involving a specific grill. The 5
of us are hardcore grill guys. Rehabbers, flippers, and we all have
our own gigs working in separate parts of the country. Well... 4 of us
are hardcore grill guys, and then we have Bob. We all have our own
little group chat that we have been doing for about 5 years now. We
all typically offer at least one thing daily, and often times we may
post and reply many times per day. Problem solving, chit chat,
motivational shit, and often times bragging about the latest homerun
that padded our wallets. All except for Bob though.
Bob makes a regular habit of bitching. Bitching about every fucking
thing in the world, and particularly how he does not have the time
to do any grill work, grill biz, or even cook on any of his grills.
He puts part of the blame on his real work. Dude is an accountant.
He has a real job, plus he does some accounting bullshit on the side,
mainly tax stuff I believe. He bitches a blue streak about the tax
stuff from January thru April 15th. Then also, every quarter or so,
bitch about having to meet deadlines and such. However, the main
source of his bitching, and why he never gets to rehab any grills, never
gets to sell any, never even gets to cook his grills, which he claims are
all his favorite hobby in the world, is his wife.
I can tell you, without a doubt, based on the pic of her that he shared
and all the stories he has told, the chick is a fucking cunt.
All of us in the group know she's a cunt. But we are all old guys that
go out of our ways to avoid any negative, or confrontational talk.
None of us would ever dog on another guys old lady. Completely
opposite of T1B. The stiff dick of reality that smack chat type
boards have, does not exist in bbq chat land. It's "Niiiiiiice Radio," all the time.
But trust me, the other guys in the group all know his wife is a cunt.
I believe deep down, Bob knows she is a cunt as well.
Bob does know his grill shit though. He is quite knowledgeable about
electrical issues and also in fuel issues. He is a very good source
of info particularly when it comes to switching from propane to
natural gas, or back and with all the specifics I won't bore you with.
But the dude constantly whines about how he wishes he had the time
to do something on his own. His cunt wife ties up all of his free time
and never allows him to do shit with bitching about it. Or, so he says
at least. This is what really draws my ire. He will spend a good 30 minutes
whining about he never has any free time, but yet spends the time
telling us about it, and will also post a half dozen times on the main
board. He posts there as much as fucktard Kierland does here. No one
can post a damn thing there, that he doesn't have to comment on.
It's quite easy to see. His time spent behind the keyboard, IS THE FREE
TIME THAT HE CLAIMS HE DOES NOT HAVE! He is a fucking wannabee.
He has all the excuses in the world of why he says he can't do something
but in all actuality, he just wont get off his ass and do it.
Do you all know a guy like Bob? Somebody you just want to punch right
in their opinion giver for a reality check?

Flew into Dallas last night for our granddaughter’s graduation from SMU. Hope the weather holds up but they’re expecting t-storms today. First impression: to hot and muggy outside, too cold inside. But coming from where we do we’re pretty much pussies when it comes to climate.

I’ll have some comments later about the Hilton here but we have to leave for a family get together at the Botanical Gardens.

And that's Houston, for about 10 months of the year.

Dave, I hear you on concerts. The crowd who goes to good concerts is getting older. They want to go to bed early. There is no more staying up until after midnight.

Do you think the crowd still following the Rolling Stones are still a bunch of spring chickens where dinner is 9pm and then they're closing the bars at 2am? Not hardly.

Mainstream classic rock bands these days really need to consider matinee concerts in addition to the night concerts.

First hot and humid weekend for us in this part of FOC.

People are now retiring at older ages. They won't be able to make those matinee concerts.

Even when I was in my 20’s the best thing about SB County Bowl was their (mostly) strict 10pm curfew. Bandas don’t dick around starting and you have time to hit the bars after, or just go home and chill.

Beach and BBQ again with some Laker fan friends, should be a happy atmosphere. Buddy is doing full on Santa Maria style with pit, oak, tri-tip.
