Weekend Roll Call 5-18-24

Not a washed up hair band, but a tune I enjoy.

Vacay's are nice, but there is always the return to reality.
The lawn was asshole deep upon our return and I was mowing
yesterday in less than 2 hours of landing. Today will be a typical
day of honey do's and grill biz.

I never bothered to take time with blabber during the PET...
but here are a few random thoughts....I had been to Vegas
once prior way back in 1989.  It might as well have been back
in 1889.  Completely different town.  Absolutely NOTHING is the same.
A town that offered great, cheap deals back then, is now the biggest
tourist ripoff I have seen since Honolulu.  Blantant thievery.
The term "ballpark pricing," can now be referred to as "Vegas Strip Pricing."
I eat anything from chain restaurants on vacation that I can get at home.
I want to enjoy local food, or chains that avoid FOC. Not impressed with
In-N-Out last year in Colorado, I was looking forward to checking out Fatburger.
That didn't happen though. They wanted $28 for a burger and fries and here
most of are bitching about $15 at the local 5 Guys. That is the norm though.
For a point of reference,  just take your normal price at home and double
or in some cases, triple it. Same goes for booze as well. While it does appear
that you still get free beer and liquor when gambling, the waitstaff is pretty
much nonexistent. Very few waitresses with their tits hanging out. Lots and
lots of tits hanging out with the tourist though. LOTS!
Cheap drinks in Vegas have been replaced though. It's almost impossible to
find a beer under $10. The pool at our hotel was checking to make sure you
didn't bring in your own booze, while having the audacity to charge $14 for
regular 12 ounce beers and $36 for mixed drinks.

$1.99 steak and eggs, and $3.99 for a steak and baked tater are
long gone.  I never say a single buffet, or the basic casino owned restaurant.
Everything seems to be conglomo franchises now.

I don't give a shit much about casino games.  We have plenty of
casinos at home and we never go.  Nevertheless I took a $20 bill to gamble
with for the helluva it.  Being the cheap basted that I am, it never let
my wallet.  $2 craps and blackjack are now $15.  $5 tables are now $25.
Penny slots are now 75 cents.  The smell of weed is here, there and everywhere.
Doesn't bother me, but I heard many comments from others about it.  Fags are
everywhere and on full display. Don't think for a minute that I can finish this
without some racial blasts.
Foreigners stretch as far as the eye can see.
Contrary to what some here believe, I kind of dig that.  Come here and spend
your $$ folks.  Fat fucks were everywhere also, but you knew for sure that
they were always Americans. Saw a few nogs, but most were local, likely homeless and with
drug or mental issues.  Black folk were all well behaved and having a good time
like all the white trash that Mikey has me lumped in with.  In fact I never saw
anyone causing any trouble at all. However, to be fair as the PET will attest, we were in
bed around 8 every night and I was waking up, posting around 2am local and out of
Vegas by sunrise every day.  Vegas was basically just home base to have fun elsewhere,
and much fun was had.

No MOW today. I was unable to attend the local klan rally this week to swap memes
with the members.

Happy Weekend, Y'all.

Re: Vegas--- was there first in 1994, stayed at the Frontier-- had fun. My younger daughter was married at the Little White Chapel and the attendees stayed at the Frontier. Good time and easy on the budget. Last time at a nephew's wedding at the Bellagio. I'd go back again just to hit the Pinball HOF. It's on my bucket list.
Tunes tonight ???
Enjoy.

Mushy, soggy Saturday with rain likely to ruin a couple of music festivals in the area. Eric Gales will be kicking ass tonight hopefully. Doubt I’ll make it, but gonna try.

Headed way out in the middle of nowhere to eat shortly.

F1 at Imola in the morning.
