Heat Wave

I guess most of the country is in a huge heat wave. We’re pretty lucky not to be hit too hard, but we’re about 12 miles from the coast so it’s heating up pretty good and we have a heat advisory until tomorrow night. The National Weather Service predicts our
high/low this weekend to be 89/67. Our two outdoor thermometers are both reading 94 degrees at 12:50 PM. What’s your predicted high/low form the NWS?
https://mobile.weather.gov
Where we’re headed in about an hour (downtown San Diego, by the bay) it’s 78/68. Pretty comfortable.

Mid to upper 90s here for over a week. Supposed to hit 100 Tuesday. Humidity has been worse, but still it’s rough. No rain forever. Grass was looking its best in years. Struggling to keep it nice. Losing interest in prioritizing a fucking lawn.

Summer is hot, usually. And sometimes it rains too. And sometimes not so much. Twas warm in Boston on Thursday. Seems normal in SWFL now. It’ll probably change in both places going forward.

Brawley would like you to go fuck yourself. At the moment it's 109° but it's past the hottest part of the day by a couple of hours.

100% correct.
And essentially, the earth is currently in-between "ice ages"
When the next inevitable "ice age" arrives, the population will naturally and drastically be brought back down. "Science" is a beautiful thing

more than 1,300 pilgrims who died during this year’s Hajj as temperatures in Saudi Arabia reached record levels.
Maybe we should ask an imam?

What is the ruling on asking someone going for Hajj or Umrah to make Dua for you, but they die of heatstroke and don't return? Dua I get dua-over?

This summer is apparently going to average about a tenth of a degree cooler than the summer of 1895 in most of Alabama.
I think we all recall the blistering heat of that 1895 summer. Well, Wolfie, Mikey and myself remember it.

The ill-taught minors of today are so special...if they encounter ANY uncomfortable weather, it's unique phenomenon that hadn't occurred prior to their existence...and therefore an existential crisis to the survival of mankind.

Wind has picked up, some rain later in the afternoon. They closed the main pool for the day so it's going to be a heavy drinking and room service day.
