Bohemian Rhapsody always leaves me wanting more during the guitar riff. Felt like there is a whole other song in there that I want to hear the rest of.

Yep. I still have my vinyl copy of that album. It got a whole lot of play back in the day.

IMO, Waiting for Columbus is the best live album of that era. Top 5 all time. Glad to see that you still have your vinyl collection.
Mine got stolen back in my college days. Yes, I was running two turntables and a microphone before it was a thing. Got so hammered while DJ'ing one party that I left my considerable wax collection unguarded. It was gone by morning. Served me right, I guess...
By the time I had enough money to rebuild, CDs were the thing. Nothing matches a vinyl collection, though. In addition to the warmth that CDs can't duplicate, there's just something about the whole LP experience. The art work, liner notes, lyrics, etc. Good G0d listen to me... get off my lawn!

Right there with you, Straw. I never thought I would part with my LPs, but I sold 400 of them several months ago. One of the toughest decisions I’ve ever made. (That doesn’t say much for the stresses in my life does it?!)
I kept 150 or so, but I miss that stuff. Holding an LP cover, reading the liner notes, enjoying the artwork…it’s religious.

I've got most of my old vinyl, including the first three I ever bought when I was probably 10 or 11 years old - Beatles '65, Surfin' USA and Shut Down Vol 2. Not sure how many there are, probably a few hundred. I lost a bunch back in my 20s - when roommates moved out (or I moved out) it seemed that a few always went missing. I haven't played any of them for quite a while because I haven't had a decent working turntable for at least 10 years. I bought one back in the 2000 aughts that had a USB output so I could try digitizing some of them. That was a mistake. First, it wasn't (isn't) that good of a player; second, if you want to digitize individual songs you have to stop and start for each one - too much of a pain in the ass; and third, the quality isn't all that good, especially from the more worn out LPs that have a lot of scratches, even if they're minor. I do plan someday to get a better turntable but, for now, I'm digital. I probably have as many CDs as vinyl but rarely even play them anymore. I finally updated my 1986 vintage pre-amp five years ago to one that has Bluetooth and can play almost anything I want by streaming through Prime Music.
