NL Wild Card Scenarios

Mets and Braves are playing DH today in ATL to close out the regular season. This was necessitated by two rainouts due to Helene.

If the Mets and Braves split, the D-Backs are out, the Braves go to San Diego and the Mets play Milwaukee.

If either team sweeps they go San Diego and the D-Backs go to Milwaukee.

If the Braves win game 1 they’re in and probably sit Chris Sale for game 2 and start him tomorrow in San Diego. If the Mets win the first game then the Braves are forced to use Sale, sure bet Cy Young this year, in game 2.

Padres are definitely hoping for a Mets win in game 1 because they probably wouldn’t have to face Sale at all.

It’s 6-4 Mets now, bottom of the 8th with the bases loaded for ATL and two out.

A lot at stake here. Let’s go Mets.

LFGSD!!

BTW ATL was ahead 3-0 until the top of the 8th when the Mets scored 6.

I fucking love baseball.

Not a fan of either team but that had to be the game of the year considering not just how it played out but consequences of any of the possible outcomes.

Fried vs Musgrove tonight. This could be a high scoring affair.

Fried knocked out in two.
Musgrove removed in the fourth with some kind of arm problem.

Strange.
