The thing is that that wasn't some fluke, scabdick miracle. They dominated that game. Now Texas has to play Vandy the week after playing Georgia as well.

yeah, that's me Sam. I went to Vandy. Grew up and graduated HS in Norman, my uncle played football for OU in late 60's early 70's and my dad briefly hoops. Went to every OU home game football from about 76 to 86 with my dad. My dad's dad had season tickets in section 19 going back to the mid 50's Wilkinson years.

I digress, cool Vandy W for sure.

I had no intention of watching anything thing last weekend until I got a text from friend to turn on the game. I thought it was a joke or that Bama was cruising to some historic blowout or something. Then Arkansas and AssToMouth.

I hate that they come in and appear to be the best SEC team. But with Sark and getting the big boys on both lines…it was inevitable. Congrats…for now.

Defense is legit. They tightened up the secondary and reloaded on the D line. Ewers was a little shaky at first, but that's not unexpected after being out a month. We'll see next week.

I confess it was hard to "get into" Vandy sports when I was there so I won't pretend like I live or die by the Commodores. It wasn't like today's SECBSH times. I went to class and saw bands on the West End. smoked grass on the wall, went to Jonesy's.

I'm not going to pile on the bandwagon.

I went to a Vandy-Tulane game at Dudley Field first week of school and Norman HIgh games had more energy and maybe more fans at NHS Harve Collins Field. Watson Brown was the coach, and so Vandy was good for 3-4 wins a year as usual. Maybe beat Kentucky, maybe not.

But, Norman High games had less whiskey drunk dudes from Atlanta, Nashville, and New Orleans prep schools in blue blazers, team color striped ties and duckheads for sure. You know what I'm talking about.

I lived for a while in southern New Mexico and hope to go back but I kinda pull for NMSU sports (and they had really good hoops until they lost too many coaches stepping stone like....and went killer/thug).....but NMSU football winning last year with Jerry Kill and Pavia was such a freak of nature that you had to like those guys.

So, those cats winning at Vandy is kinda cool for me....and not totally surprising but still cool to see on the national stage. Talk about 2 perennial losing teams. Seriously.

Easy to pull for Pavia and Kill.

Anyway, that Bama D was a lot like Oklahoma in a game against Army a few years ago, the Kyler Murray year. Like the DC, Mike Stoops for OU, D people in general had never seen "'option" blocking schemes before. and despite better talent, had no idea how to defend it.
